Seahawk Addicts Adds Writer

by: Michael Steffes

Hey everybody, after some careful deliberation and pondering of my options for some well deserved upcoming vacation time I decided that now was the appropriate time to add a new member to the Seahawk Addicts family. Well, actually, he isn't so new. Many of you may know him as "gonzo". His real name is Mike Parker. He used to cover the south end (Renton, Kent, etc) for the Seattle Times. He has been a football fan all his life and has followed the Seahawks diligently since moving up from No Cal several years ago. Obviously he is qualified as a writer. He is also experienced as a blogger. He has his own Seahawks blog which you can view RIGHT HERE. Obviously I am very excited he is joining the team.

Thankfully, due to a reduction in staff at the Times, Mike has some free time (their loss is my gain baby!) right now, and will be helping out with day to day stuff, basically tracking down links and creating good conversation pieces. Also, and as hard is this is for me to do, I will be taking a vacation with my woman the first week of the preseason, including the first preseason game. I promised her a week away from football, and mostly away from the computer, before the season started. That was the only workable time. By then Mike should be immersed, and with Chris, the blog won't miss a beat. I was a touch concerned. Leaving THIS blog unattended for a week is unacceptable. We are Seahawk Addicts, and we need our fix daily.

So, anyway, I wanted to introduce you all to Mike before he got a post up. You will see his work soon enough. I am very excited, and I am sure you will appreciate him being on board as much as I will. No where to go but up ma! It is going to be a great season. END Read More!

Welcome Aboard

by: Michael Steffes

Some of you may have noticed a new link in the right sidebar of the page today. It is to the Seattle Team Store and is listed as the official merchandise partner of Seahawk Addicts. Seattle Team Store approached me and asked if I would like to be the guinea pig for an advertising program they were starting. I have been a long time Seattle Team Store customer and was excited to hear they are fans of the blog.

I am sure many of you have been to one of their many stores, especially the one across the street from Qwest Field. They also run the Dawg Den and Husky Headquarters as well. If you are an out of towner, their website www.Seattleteams.com is an absolute must for those looking to get the best gear of their favorite Seattle teams. Now, not only will you be getting the best selection of Hawks, M's, and Huskies gear, but you help support Seahawk Addicts as well. It is a win win peeps!

The final kicker is even better. By adding Seattle Team Store, I was able to open up a whole new level of jersey selection for the winner of the draft day contest. Being a fan owned shop, they know the players you want! Add players like Deon Grant, Kelly Jennings, or even Leroy Hill to the possibilities. Make sure you enter the contest ASAP, as entries close tomorrow at midnight! If you need info, click on the banner above the first post. END Read More!

The Readers Voted...Live Blog It Is

by: Michael Steffes

You want it! You got it!

I am happy to provide a live blog during the schedule release show. I just want to remind you all that the live blog software forces me to approve comments. Last time I got stretched a little thin.

As you can imagine it is hard to cover the action and constantly approve comments. So I am going to do my best, but be warned, if your comment doesn't post right away that is why. Regardless, I encourage all of you to check it out. Chris and I are going to attempt a record long live blog that covers the first day of the draft. And if all goes well, we may try to do so during games this year as well, so that Seahawk fans can share their jubilation and sometimes frustration, around the globe.

So tune in tomorrow at 11 am PST and lets discuss the schedule release. END Read More!

Link Tutorial

by: Michael Steffes

In one of the previous threads, it seems there was some frustration over the inability to use a hyperlink in the comments. Well, you actually can do this, and it isn't too hard. So, just like many things around here, all you have to do is ask. I have created a tutorial that I hope you will find helpful. It should allow you to post links in your comments. Here is the tutorial.

I will also post this in the links in the right sidebar, so that you may refer back to it. And, I as I have stated several times, if you have problems, questions, content ideas, or you what to share something with me, and possibly the SA community, please just email me at Michael.Steffes@seahawkaddicts.com. I am happy to address the issues, and that way the comments in the threads themselves can be directed at the topic being discussed. END. Read More!

Schmap the Season Out!

I just thought I would alert my loyal readers to the new widget that I have used to replace some of the shameless advertising that wasn't making me any money anyway. It is located on the left side bar and it is called the Schmap! I thought it was pretty cool. You can follow the season scrolling over the map, or by using the arrows at the bottom to go game by game. Also, if you hit the Zoom, or little magnifying glass, you get satellite views of the stadiums. Hey! This site just keeps getting cooler all the time! Read More!

NEW DIGS!

Some of you by now have noticed the new look to the site. Not only did i add a left hand sidebar in the last week, but i have littered the site with two types of advertising. If you're lucky you might even see Hass pop up in some of the adds.

The rotating adds are Google Ads, you will see these tied in at the bottom of the posts. By visiting a couple of these sponsors on a daily basis to see what they are offering, you do a great service to your hard working blogger because this brings funds to the site. The more the better, but REALLY check out what the sponsors are offering, don't just click back and forth, PLEASE.

Some of the other adds, such as Fathead, Travelocity, and The Fans Edge, I secured as affiliates. These helpthe site if you purchase from these sponsors. So if your gonna buy a plane ticket to say....go to the draft, or you just can't wait any longer to get that Shaun Alexander Fathead (might want to go with Largent instead!). Or you are like me and you are going to buy the first round picks jersey an hour after he is picked at Fans Edge, then enter those sites by clicking on the adds. That way, I will be able to afford to give you guys Jersey's, Tickets, and Other fun prizes in contests through the season. Read More!
