As some of you may have seen in the news earlier today, Seattle Seahawks CB Marcus Trufant has been placed on injured reserve with a bruised sacrum (lower back).
That means Walter Thurmond will take over the starting role opposite Brandon Browner, with Richard Sherman the likely no. 3 CB. This starting secondary is now amongst the youngest in the NFL, with 3 second-year players and a player who just came from the CFL; note that the oldest of the group is Brandon Browner at only 27, followed by Walter Thurmond (24), Kam Chancellor (23), and Earl Thomas (22). Pay close attention to this group everyone, this is the future of your defensive secondary!
Marcus Trufant's contract ends after this season; with his injury, it allows these young players to gain valuable game-time experience. Combine those two facts together, and I'm getting the hunch that Marcus Trufant may have played his last game in a Seahawks uniform.
Your thoughts? What do you think this does to our team in the short term? Long term?
