The coaching changes are happening again for the second day in a row. OC Jeremy Bates has been fired. With some of the leagues lowest stats on offense, Coach Carroll was obviously not pleased. Still, I thought that Bate's approach to the Saints and Rams games were genius.
This goes to show that Carroll expects perfection on his team. His competition philosophy carries over to the coaches as well.
Josh McDaniels anyone?
I read something about Brad Childress as a possible candidate for OC and the Vikes QB coach for our QB coach opening, or its possible Jim Zorn comes back as the OC I read as well.

Does anyone ever go to field gulls? Those guys are kind of a bunch of tools. They think for some reason they are smarter than the FO. I think it is amusing reading those guys talk about how this is the end of the world. I don't know how many times I was sitting there thinking why are we running this over and over. I agree about 3rd or 4th and 1 then throwing up a prayer. I don't know if that was play calling or hass being hass but how many times does it have to happen.
Oh, while this is likely never going to happen.... Still, I'd love to see Gruden be an OC again and on a PC staff. Just imagine the fun that would be to watch...
I'm a bit suprised. However, pleased to see coach making the hard decisions and not afraid to walk away from sunk costs or mistakes.
I wish Jeremy well, he's got a tough job/career and he didn't do anything do deserve hate or disrespect.
Considering what we've seen from coach and JS, I expect they've been orchastrating this move and have a juicy suprise lined up for us in the next few weeks.
bates was a very frustrating oc to watch, calling slants on third and short was a nightmare andit happened all the time. also, too much off his offense was based on two TE system, and since we only have two good blocking TE's, our game falls apart when we get injured. he did have moments of briliance, but the lack of screens to our speedsters force and tate was a major reason our pass plays were so predictable...
Bates did an admirable job with the talent he had, and as its been said, the game plan vs. the Rams and Saints was terrific. Also, he really did have limited talent to work with and the O line was banged up.He has a bright future in the NFL, its a shame to see him go. And please tell me, why hasnt BRADLEY ben fired yet?????
I thought he did well, with NO and ST. L, but that Chicago game was horrendous, not to mention a lot of other games during the season. Most of the games we lost weren't even close. The defense and their pressure on Cutler really helped them win the first Chicago game, but with the Bears being healthier this time around, the Hawks just couldn't get it done the same way. I would liked to have seen some deeper pass attempts against the Bears like we had against NO instead of continuing to force the run for negative yardage. I'm excited to see who's next...
I was hoping we'd grab Singletary as a lb coach or defensive coordinator. He worked wonders in San Fran with their linebacker corps. Patrick Willis would not be the ultimate terror he is today without Singletary's coaching and I'd have liked to see how Curry and Hawthorne would progress with Singletary's teaching. Oh well, Brett Favre for QB coach!!! lol
Schefter says the seahawks have been talking to mcdaniels since monday. also interviewed bevell from the viking for the quarterbacks coach. he could be a possibility.
I think I can actually see Slav dancing in the streets!
Mcdanials ? in one word..HELL NO that guy is an idiot. I hope and pray he isn't on Pete's mind. He rode Billicheats coattails, and took credit for Bradys successes.
Don't worry about mattie having to learn a new offense... hehe
Actually kinda surprised. Considering how bad the line was banged up...there was flashes of brilliance from the offense throughout the year. Flashes mind you.
text musgrave or mcdaniels.........get someone in now ......so hass can start learning a new system...again....
and hes a dirty stinkin cheater!
better to find the right guy now than try and force feed this guy another year...
Not a big deal other than this means yet another offense for Hass andcompany to learn. Hopefully we snag an up and coming guy that has lots of potential but not many have heard of. Im not sure I like mcdaniels as he never met with lots of success in denver.
