The offense looked ugly in the early going, giving up turnovers and making the Jets look like they've got a legitimate pass rush, but an improved second half performance combined with Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow hosting an all-game clinic on how not to play the QB position ultimately led to a nice, satisfying victory.
Also, I love how well the Seahawks are executing on Wilson's option runs and those wide receiver passes. First Sidney Rice, and now Golden Tate -- how many receivers do you think will get a shot at tossing the ball downfield this year, anyway? I'm going to really enjoy re-watching this one when the All-22 film comes out. Do your worst in the comments below.
Well the seahawks continue to impress at home. Wilson needs the bye week to really figure out why he was holding the ball so long. You get 3 seconds, make a decision and stick with it, run, throw, throw away, or sack. Anything is better then losing the ball. Anyway, the D looked good but that is a given against the awful offense of the Jets. My season tickets have been great this year.
Golden Tate is starting to build up an impressive resume for this season. He had a catch earlier in the season that was responsible for settling the referee's strike, and Sunday he had both a touchdown reception and a touchdown pass in the same game. I'd say the guy is coming around.
Wow. Not the most impressive game, but by the time the 4th qtr rolled around we were looking pretty good. I would have to say the most impressive aspect of this game was the defense holding the Jets offense to ZERO points! As we all saw the only points the Jets put on the board was a defensive TD due to Russell Wilson not securing the ball very well. Sherman's pick in the red zone is really what saved that. Very happy about the Hawks now 5-0 at home.... so sweet!
I watched the end of the Rams/Niners game and was rooting my ass off for the Rams. Disappointed in the tie (seriously?) but at least its better than a Niners win. So on paper the Niners are a half game ahead of us (or is it a whole game because of their bye week?). At this point I think we can actually go for the division win and not just a wild card.
Golden Tate continues to impress me. Defense looked strong, Offense worried me until the middle of the third quarter. The decisions Wilson made under pressure worried me, but a Seahawks win, and now 6-4 is encouraging. Rams/9ers tie was disappointing, but so is the way of the game. Hooyah, and Happy Veterans day.
You would think the next non-QB pass would come from the ex QB Mike Robinson. Russell will be able to learn a bit from this one. He was holding the ball way too long and trying to do too much after the first TD pass. It was almost like he was too confident after the quick start. They had to take the ball out of his hands a bit in the second half. Good play calling by Bevel. Nice job by the defense all day. That said, the D-line was still getting pushed off the ball quite a few times. Hopefully the Rams can pull the upset so we can creep up on the 9ers.
