Earlier in the week, there were some murmurrs about the Seahawks possibly wearing their blue-and-white jerseys down to Oakland for this weekend's game. Matt Hasselbeck even tweeted some excited speculation at one point.
Sadly, the Hawks won't be dressing up for Halloween this year.
Per NFL rules, requests to wear alternate jerseys of any kind must be submitted 18 months before the start of the season. It seems inexplicable, but since the Seahawks haven't submitted any requests, they'll be wearing their usual jerseys for the rest of the season, and into next season, according to head equipment manager Erik Kennedy.
Seemed like a fun idea at the time, but I think the Halloween wardrobe of the Black Hole is going to give everyone plenty of entertainment anyway.
