TJ Houshmandzadeh -- never one to hold his tongue, as we learned many times last year -- spoke briefly to TMZ Sports (the journalist superstars who broke TateGate last week) today, and, no shock, what he said is making waves. Asked whether Carroll made the right decision in leaving USC, Housh said:

"Yeah, of course; get out while the house is burning."

So, what do you guys think? Did Carroll abandon a sinking ship, or did he leave because it was time to move on? It's impossible to ignore that Carroll knew there was a chance of sanctions coming, but don't forget that Lane Kiffin jumped at a chance to coach and had similar knowledge of the 2004-2005 season shenanigans (he was offensive coordinator from 2000-2006). Does this hurt Carroll's legacy?
