In other possible moves that just make far too much sense for the Seahawks, Nate Burleson's departure could mean WR Brandon Marshall is still on the Seahawks' radar.
Granted, "a league source" is never that solid when it comes to proof of things like this, but there's been chatter about Marshall coming to the Seahawks long before today. Aaron Wilson, the National Football Post writer who posted this story, says this:
Per our source, nothing is imminent as far as drawing up an offer sheet.
Marshall is a restricted free agent, but he was only assigned the first-round tender.
The Seahawks own two first-round draft picks, the sixth overall pick and the 14th overall selection. The Broncos would have the opportunity to match any offer or receive a first-round pick as compensation.
Now, this of course begs the question: Is acquiring Marshall worth giving up a first-round pick? He would no doubt add a considerable downfield threat to the Seahawks' offense, and we all know there's a large need for such a weapon. This free agency period may be affecting who the Seahawks draft more so than we thought.
