Confirmed News:

  • The Bears have signed former Rams blocking TE (who can catch, too) Brandon Manumaleuna to a 5-year contract.
  • Chargers special teams standout and WR Kassim Osgood is visiting the Jaguars. He wants a chance to take snaps at WR.
  • Peppers is all but certain to sign in Chicago; Kyle Vanden Bosch ditto in Detroit. Still no official word about Seahawks interest in Kampman.
  • Chicago and Detroit are the big players early in free agency. The Redskins and Seahawks, recently insanely active, are silent.

An interesting bit; basically every take I've seen has Burleson getting way overpaid in Detroit. Maybe so, but good for him. Few people actually saw what value he can add to a team, and I think he has as much value to Detroit as he could to any team. He will be effective enough to not permit constant doubling of Calvin Johnson, and can contribute in a big way on special teams.

Unfortunately, that's about it. This is a slow-moving process in every way save for rumor mongering. It does appear that the Seahawks not being too interested in Free Agency idea is holding up, but its still early. Adding Kampman makes a lot of sense, but Bodden is unlikely. Letting Burleson go indicates that the Seahawks will go hard after offensive rebuild in the draft.
