Tim Tebow has revealed that he will be holding private workouts with the Seahawks and Buffalo Bills in addition to his Pro Day. This isn't a huge shock, as both teams are clearly in the market for an heir apparent at the quarterback position. As a reminder (from NFL.com blogs):

Tebow said he has been working out with new Arizona State offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone and reigning CFL Coach of the Year Marc Trestman of the Montreal Alouettes. Mazzone is teaching Tebow the numbered offensive system, and Trestman is working with the QB on the West Coast offense. Those two systems are the dominant offensive passing schemes in the NFL.

Few believe that Tebow can actually fully alter his mechanics, but no one can question the fact that the kid wins. If he's in the middle-late rounds, why not?

Minority

I know I'm in the minority when I say that Matt still has a good bit left in the tank (~3 years, as long as he's protected). With that being said, I think this would be a great pick-up if he's there in the 4th round but I doubt he will be (I peg him getting picked up in the 2-3 rounds). He can have a few years (at least 1 if they decide not to extend Matt) to learn the ropes and develop and it'd be good value if he does indeed pan out.

If he's there in the 4th I would pull the trigger for sure. I might even give him some consideration at 40, but if I really liked him there it might make more sense to try to trade back into the the top of the third which is where I suspect he will probably go. Tebow has a *lot* of questions, but he is a very strong team leader who I believe will produce better results than his abilities would indicate. Even if he only became a #2/option guy he would be worth the 4th and IMO a third. (hesitate on the second)

I am also a bit of the opinion that perfect throwing motion is overrated while we sometimes way undervalue leadership and football savvy, both of which Tebow seems to have.

Just because you were a winner in college it does not mean anything in the NFL. There are countless players that attest to that fact. David Greene anyone?

Here's my take on the whole Tebow issue. First off, I don't like Tebow and that is just my hatred for Florida bias coming into play. I don't think he translates well to the NFL, BUT he is a great athlete, a good leader and knows how to win. He could be the exception to the rule and what I see him as is a bigger, younger, more athletic Seneca Wallace who actually has a chance and the potential to become a legit NFL starter.

That said, I would let Holmy have Seneca for whatever we could get for him and then take a chance on Tebow or another mid round QB prospect. At the very least, we would have gotten a younger, bigger back up QB who at least has a chance to develop into a NFL starter.

Of course this is in the event that we don't go after one of the top guys.

I think this is Carrol throwing smoke screens.

I believe Matt would enjoy mentoring Tebow. He is not ready to start this year but could really grow under Carroll. If he is there in the 3rd I can't see the Hawks passing on him.
Matt is done

Matt is done done done, bring in Tebow trade Matt and keep Seneca.

I'm okay with taking Bradford or Clausen at the six too.

2nd round
written by realspd, March 08, 2010
I think tebow will go in the 2nd to someone. The guy is a winner and an excellent athlete who is willing to work. I think a coach in a stable situation (like Pete) should pick him up and see if he can make it at QB. Unlike Holmy and Seneca, if after a while it's clear they are peaking at a back up level you go to Tebow and say, if you want to play I need you at H-back or TE etc and he goes without question. I think he would give 100% to be the best slash player if he thinks the coach believes in him and it gets him on the field.

If the Hawks draft T-bow (in any round).. I will puke.. I will seriously have to question this staff and my support for them.. He's a 'leader'.. that Timmy rah rah crap won't fly in the NFL.. I want to see a diffrent team have to put up with it.. please not the Hawks

Tebow...

No way. Agree with BaNos. Don't think he translates well in the NFL. There were times I thought Florida won in spite of Tebow, not because of him. Let someone else have him.

Agree with Tim Douglass on this one - while I think LeFevour offers more value re. projected pick position (and if we're going after a QB he'd be the one I want), I wouldn't have much of a problem with taking Tebow at #40 and, if he lasts as far as the 4th round - bargain! Having said that I really liked the Teel pick in last year's draft & I've not given up on him being our starter in years to come.
