Rob Sims and Chris Spencer, plus an undisclosed draft pick, for Brandon Marshall.
Sound crazy? Yes, it probably does. But Brian McIntyre at NorthwestFootball.net has put together a scenario involving the above players that could make a whole lot of sense for both teams.
To boil it down, the Broncos are in need of guards and a center. They're down to a 26-year-old third-stringer named Dustin Fry at center, who has never started an NFL game. Meanwhile, Chris Spencer's future in Seattle is definitely uncertain, after Max Unger outplayed him when filling in at center in the final few games of the 2009 season. Unger also was the only offensive lineman who played every snap on the Seahawks last year, showing durability that is a much-needed attribute of the team's maligned offensive line.
Durability issues aside, the Broncos could use Spencer's experience at center, which is a position that comes with a steep learning curve. They need depth at the position. Rob Sims has also been a subject of chatter in the free agency game, as he's been told by the coaching staff to stay away from offseason workouts for the time being. McIntyre:
(Mike Kils of the Denver Post) suggests that Marshall won't sign the tender until he's assured that he's being traded, and that the Broncos could take the second of Seattle's two first-round picks for Marshall, or could even take Seattle's second-round pick (now the 60th pick overall) and one of the Seahawks' two fourth-round picks for Marshall.
Sims is big, strong, and athletic, and could be a fit in Josh McDaniels' hybrid "Zone/Power" blocking scheme. With a 2010 draft class light on quality interior offensive linemen, Denver may view Sims as an appealing alternative to a fourth-round draft choice, and along with Seattle's second-round pick, may be enough to get a deal done for Marshall.
In a perfect world, this would open the gates for Pete Carroll to draft the left tackle of the future (there is no excuse not to, at this point) and put either Ray Willis or Sean Locklear at right tackle. Training camp should sort that battle out.
The Broncos may still try to see which other teams have any interest in Marshall, however. The draft still is a month away, and a lot can happen between now and then. Veteran guard Ben Hamilton may decide to re-sign with Denver, which would lessen the team's need for depth at the position. Another team could come along and be willing to part with their first-round pick for Marshall, unlike what the Seahawks appear to be willing to do at this point.
Even still, this is a situation both teams should probably consider, especially since Josh McDaniels has made it clear he doesn't want Brandon Marshall around for another season. Sims and Spencer could definitely thrive under McDaniels' blocking scheme, and if Marshall can catch passes from Kyle Orton, I don't think Charlie Whitehurst would be much of a stretch. (Nothing personal, Hasselbeck.)

Let's hope something like the scenarios happen, and get Marshall in a Seahawk uniform.

We need some play makers!!!

If not I think Sims, Spencer and fourth rounder should do it. Bottom line I would rather have that 2nd rounder in this draft than Sims or Spencer.

Or even No. 60, Sims and Spencer for Marshall because neither player has a future in Seattle and Marshall does.

I would rather go into the draft filling holes like LT, DE, RB, SS. Not WR.

But, a smaller person in the way will do better than a mountain that wiffs...

Who goes in if Unger gets hurt????? I suppose we might get away with Vallos at backup......Or not!

I would LOVE to have Marshall, but the center position is worth more than is being credited for, especially if Unger goes down. #60, Sims and Spencer is a bit too high. #60 and one or the other should do it, if not we could really use that #60.

How about Rob Sims, Deon Branch and a 4th rounder for Marshall.

Just sayin.... We really should keep our 2nd pick if this is the case.

Either way, it wont happen until right before the draft, as Denver will try to squeeze value out of Marshall. Even though if they dont trade him, he likely will hold out, and they will get not much for him if he misses camp. Also, he's only under contract for another year. Then he's free and they get NOTHING. Seattle holds the cards on this one--lets hope they stick to thier guns and dont fold like they did with Whitehurst. Do NOT give up the 60th pick. Make them take those players and a fourth...its the best those guys will get.

Just kidding, but wouldn't that be nice?

We are the only ones in the running for him at this time. So we could get him for Sims and Spencer. Sims supposedly does not fit our Blocking system and Spencer got beat out by Unger last year.
If someone else does join in we will likely need to use that second rounder.

Josh McDaniels actually probably likes Deion Branch. That trade involving Vallos/Branch/Sims may actually work.

We could get a guy like Charles Brown at 14, which would be a steal since he is a very polished pass protecter and is a perfect fit for the ZBS. He is a better prospect than Trent Williams (more of an RT anyways) or anyother LT there at 6 except maybe Campbell. Its not like we are giving up a Walter Jones like player at 6 if we decide to pass up LT there and get our LT later in the draft.
