Kolb is another story. Kevin Kolb is easily one of the best backups in the game right now, and will likely be a successful starter within two years. However, the Eagles know that. My gut feeling is that the pricetag the Eagles have in their mind for Kolb is far more than almost any team would consider for him. He's 25 years old, has a few years of learning under his belt, and should provide a near seamless transition in Philadelphia once McNabb is gone. Andy Reid isn't going to invest three years in QB training just to let him walk for a second round pick.
So, is there much to this? I doubt it. As I've said before, the Seahawks should be investigating every single quarterback who might be available to them. They must, as this is the most important decision of Carroll and Schneiders' tenure in Seattle.

I would trade the #6 for Kolb

And give a 3rd in 2011. He is that good, and Reid will not quit on McNabb. Kolb's contract is up next year.
McNabb?

We already have a 34 year old QB who may (or may not) have a few years left. It makes no sense what-so-ever to go after him.
Getting a QB like Kolb to come in an compete with Teel to become Hass's heir would make sense, but I don't know how to value his worth to acquire.

McNabb makes absolutely no sense at all. If Carroll is actually looking at him my opinion of him has just gone down a bit. The "win now" idea behind it as presented in the PFT article would imply that Carroll has written Matt off without ever seeing him on the practice field. Not a good start IMO. Kolb makes good sense, but not in a win-now way.
This is, of course, PFT - the least reliable reporting agent on the planet.

This is all crap. Seahawks would not take any of those guys. Kolb is good but the Eagles will not part ways with him. McNabb is the same as Hass. Only a few years left in him..... These are all just made up rumors. I think I will make up a rumor..... The Hawks do exactly what Chris said in the previous article regarding Marshall.... Wait... It won't be a rumor soon!!

Pick up Anderson instead of wasting time with McNabb and the cost for Kolb will be too high. Anderson was a pro-bowler 3 years ago and is only 26

Crap! Its all BS, at best an attempt to drive up the price of Kolb/McNabb. Whether its a favor to Philly or just a way to hose whatever teams are interested (like the Browns), its BS.
Im sure we'd love to get Kolb, but theres no way Philly lets him go short of a Herchel Walker deal. And McNabb makes no sense as we have his white counterpart Hasselbeck allready.
COuld be we're trying to get Anderson to sign for cheap. But theres just no way we go after McNabb and no way we can afford Kolb.

according to dave neihaus' twitter the seahwaks are interested in warren moon!
of course theyre lookin at every option, they have to. I wouldn't be suprised if we said we were interested in brooks bollinger!
its all smoke and mirrors and posturing right now.
that said kolb almost certainly will cost too much and donovan would be a stoner-ishly complacent hass. neither of which do i expect to see in neon green.
i have lost no faith, im just glad to see our guys out there doin things!

So Anderson is visiting Seattle, along with Arizona. Not only that, but the Browns are shopping Quinn around. What does that mean? That Holmgren wants someone other than Anderson or Quinn to start for the Browns next year. Who might that be? Could a (and this is how rumors get started) a Hass for Quinn deal be in the works?
If it's true that Seattle has been calling Phili...

...that means they are looking for a starter, either Kolb or McNabb, as they would know that whatever was required to obtain Kolb (or McNabb) would have to be compensation for a starting QB. That means (if all this is true) that Seattle is seriously considering someone other than Hass as next year's starting QB.

There's no point to trading for McNabb and I don't see the Eagles trading Kolb, so this seems they are just doing their due dilligence in examing all the options no matter how likely.

I'm with kidder95. #6 and next years 3rd would be a fair trade. McNabb is not coming to Seattle, he's a very slight upgrade to Hass. As for Anderson, I would not be opposed to signing him to a one year deal to let him practice in our system and see if he can hack it. I still wouldn't let that stop us from drafting Clausen or Bradford if they are there at #6.

I would love to have Kolb, even if it costs our number 6 pick. He would be a hell of an improvement over Clausen!
As for Mcnabb, yea he is great and would even want him over Hass, but I don't see a point, unless they are trying to trade Hass to Cleveland for something other than a QB, maybe more picks to trade to Denver?

I don't think it's that far fetched that the Seahawks could walk away from this offseason with Kevin Kolb at QB, Brandon Marshall at WR, and one of Brown, Davis, or Bulaga at LT. That would be incredible.

Ok.. lets get real here..
McNabb = Hasselbeck (give or take a percentage point or 2)
Kolb = 3 #1 picks at least..
Clausen = Rick Mirer/Brady Quinn/Arnaz Battle/Jarious Jackson/Ron Powlus (the list of pro failures is seemingly endless.. you have to go back to 1978 and Joe Montana and then 1970 and Joe Theismann and I am too young to remember anybody before then that was worth a damm (and I am OLD)
Forget 1st round QB this year unless we can pick up Bradford (like that is gonna happen) otherwise fix the freakin lines and forget the skill positions til next year..

So by your logic Phil we shouldn't draft Bradford either since Oaklahoma hasn't produced a good QB... ever?
Just because they wen't to the same school is no reason to compare the two.
