In news that should probably stop surprising us at this point, Leroy "Ruskell Guy" Hill is in more trouble today than he was yesterday. KIRO News reports:
According to the document filed in King County Superior Court, police believe Hill has had multiple contacts with the alleged victim of assault. In April, Issaquah police arrested Hill for investigation of domestic violence assault. Court records say "(His girlfriend) confronted him about infidelity" and "he grabbed her by the ponytail and pulled her down the stairs."
The new affidavit accuses Hill of "witness tampering, witness intimidation and violation of the existing no contact order." Police want Sprint cell phone records to prove Hill has been contacting his girlfriend against court order. They also want global positioning locations of the phone. Police said they became suspicious after Hill's girlfriend stopped cooperating with the domestic violence investigation a short time after police saw her car at Hill's house.
Hill's alleged victim girlfriend has now disappeared. She failed to show up for a court trial today, quit going to work, and has not returned repeated calls to police and prosecutors.
So, in other words, Hill continues to prove that he is exactly who he wasn't supposed to be when Tim Ruskell picked him and re-signed Hill before last season began. The good news is, the penalty for cutting Hill is minimal -- his contract was well structured to allow for a release at pretty much anytime after last year. I'm not saying that Hill will be cut, but I would definitely not be shocked if Hill isn't on the team come September.
