As Steve Middleton mentioned, Seattle has signed ex-Broncos guard Ben Hamilton to a one year contract. Hamilton was drafted by Denver in 2001, where he played for current Seahawks o-line coach Alex Gibbs until Gibbs left to coach Atlanta's o-line in 2004.
Hamilton became a starter at the beginning of the 2002 season and didn't miss a snap until a concussion suffered in training camp landed him on injured reserve for the 2007 season. Denver tried to plug the hole in its line with Chris Myers (and later Chris Kuper when Myers was shifted to center to replace injured starter Tom Nalen), but without Hamilton in the lineup the o-line's play suffered noticeably.
Hamilton bounced back from the concussion to start every game in 2008, then was replaced in the starting lineup partway through the 2009 season as Denver transitioned to a more power-oriented blocking scheme under new head coach Josh McDaniels.
So then, what does this mean for the Seahawks? Hamilton's lost season in '07 is a bit concerning, but less so since he proved he could return to form in '08 and '09. 2010 will be his tenth season in the league, so Seattle will only realistically be able to count on him for a year or two, but what he lacks in longevity he should hopefully make up for in reliability and his experience in Gibbs' zone blocking scheme. In short, this isn't a terribly sexy signing as far as free agency goes, but hopefully it increases the odds that Hasselbeck will finish more plays standing upright this year (well, provided the team drafts a young stud LT and the Bondo keeping RT Locklear's balky parts together holds up, but that's a whole 'nother topic).

By comparison the defending division champs Cardinals have only 2, and one of them is against the 49ers. Pretty goofy if you ask me. It reminds me of a few years ago when the Browns went 10-6 and just missed the playoffs, then the next year we had to watch them play a bunch of primetime games and suck.

Good news!

I for one am predicting a seahawk loss at tampa sadly. When is the last time seahawks traveled to the east and won? Regardless of any team they play after 2 terrible seahawk season I would not right now expect a win.

Seriously.
You go defense, defense, defense with the first three picks and you're going to look like last years team with our QB's running for their lives and not making plays until they finally get hit and injured and are out altogether. Matt can't take much more of that and I sure don't like the idea of getting CW banged up big time either.
You need to draft whoever falls to you from the top 6 players at #6 and if it isn't Okung or Williams, plan on selecting the best LT left at number #14 unless you can trade down and still pickup Charles Brown (but you'd better be sure you can get him in that case).
If there's a run on LT's (which happens almost every year) you may not be able to afford to drop down any from #14 and you'll have to pick Brown up there.
Now, I don't care if you draft defensive players for the rest of the draft, at lease we'll have done what we had to do to protect out QB's and give the offensive a chance to get plays off. Having a great defense doesn't do you so much good when your offense can't score. You still have to put up some points to win and no LT = no points.

#6...Berry
#14...Charles Brown.
Brown may not be the best LT, but that doesn't mean he can't be stop gap this year and move to the right side next year. I will be disappointed if we don't end up with Berry if available.
My other scenario is the best LT at #6 and Earl Thomas at #14. Safety is a huge need for us. I want one of those two studs!

I'm right there with you. I will be very upset if they take Berry at #6. They need to get that LT in the fold and start protecting our quarterback. At this point, a safety is a luxury pick. We need offense and it all starts with a solid line.

Assuming none of those 3 drop to 6 I'd rather see a trade down from 6 if possible and Charles Brown at 14 (or wherever the trade down from 6 ends up providing it's sufficient to obtain Brown). Then Earl Thomas or Joe Haden with the other 1st.

i like that.

Among the implications: we shouldn't be ruling out Clausen at #6. If we have a choice between him and Berry or Spiller, I'd go with the QB.
If Berry and Clausen are still on the board, it probably means the top DT's and LT's are already gone. So I'd be looking to take Charles Brown at #14. BillT is right about the need to find an LT. I prefer Brown over Bulaga, who seems to be a better fit at RT. (I'm also somewhat wary of linemen who played their college ball at Iowa.)
