Mike Florio stumbled onto an interesting little clip of Jim Mora the other day on Softy's show (which is aired on Comcast Sports Net locally), where it seems Mr. Mora was demonstrating that he is totally over the firing and not the least bit resentful at all. Fast forward to the 6:50 (or so) mark, and watch... what do you think he says here?

Is that a "Pete Carroll cheats," that we see?

I think what Mora said is "Pete Carroll is a dirt bag"
OH Brother!
written by sns1122, January 12, 2010
Tom you nailed it....."dirt bag"

I'm guessing he's talking about the NCAA look into the kid who drove around in a SUV that wasn't his..... How does that equal cheating? Sounds like a bitter guy who's interested in stirring up trouble, which if he truly loved this team, he wouldn't do. Sounds like he's still got some growing up to do.

Jim Mora has no class.Show your face jackass. He just got 12 million and looks like he has been crying and wiping his tears with all of his money.Go out with class not talking shit with your butt buddy Hugh.I have stood behind Mora all year but this douchbag is on repeat.I could see why are players gave up on this guy.He takes the wind right out of the sails.I am so excited not to have to listen to all your press conferences next year.I was in a great seahawks vibe before I watched this.Does anyone trust this guy.If I ever see this guy hiking I am going to hawksmack his rich kid ass.

Mora was a total failure as the Seahawks coach and now we really get to see how classless he is. First he releases the text he supposedly got from Ruskell and now name calling our new coach (under his breath). Jim Mora sir, you are an ass and I lost all respect for you (you know..kinda like the players did less than halfway through the season).

Once a hypocrite always a hypocrite. He talks about how people with "class and integrity" get ahead and then he mouths something as stupid as that. Good thing it's people with integrity that get ahead and not those with sour grapes.
I like how Softy goes all crazy laughing

Softy will pretty soon be kissing Carroll's ass to get him on his show, and then will talk to him like his new BFF.

Is playing Justin Foresett over Julius Jones cheating because thats the only explanation I can see as to why he didn't get more playing time Jim. Man am I glad that wind blower is gone. Did he not know this was being filmed or something? What a jackass.

Hypocrite is what comes to my mind as well. Preaching about integrity and then whispering things off mic.

I don't feel bad that he is being replaced. He did not earn a second year.
Paul Classless?

Are you friggin kidding me? This guy saved football in this town,..he has done some much stuff with his money that shows nothing but class. It's his money , his team,..he can do whatever the hell he wants to do with it. We are all just lucky that he truly cares and wants to put a winning product on the field. Apparently the Behring years are too far away for some.

Paul Allen saved this team! How can you call him class less. He wants to bring a championship to Seattle more than anything. If he thought Mora could do that he would have stuck with him. He could see Mora didn't have the team.
Speaking of classless Mora is the one who called out Spencer for playing his heart out and Mare for having one shitty game. He couldn't handle his team or the media!

Um, I think that if any of you guys were in his position you would be bitter too. First of all this was a radio show and I doubt that he knew it was being filmed. Many of us guys have said something "off the record" and had it bite us in the ass before. The dude was passionate about this job, I loved that about him. I feel bad for Jim, he was left with a team that only won 4 games last year. Turnarounds generally take more then one year. One more question, if the player quit on Mora who does that speak worse of? Mora or the players quitting? The money, security and fame that these guys get they shouldn't be quitting on anyone. IMHO the only one that didn't quit was Mora. Stop being such fairweather fans. You win we love you, you lose you are the biggest douchebag on the planet. Get real, Knox had losing seasons too, Jim needed more then one to fix the mess he was left with.
All the ish-talk

Slightly off topic, but still pertaining to some of the commenting on this and other threads. I read that BillT has left the site, possibly because of the conduct and commenting of some of us readers? That really, truly disappoints me. Bill had some of the best, most analytical write ups of players and gameplay that I've come across not only on this site but other, larger, more general NFL sites as well.

I definitely read some of the more inflammatory comments left in disagreement of some of his views on how to heal this sick team. Maybe at times I should have chimed in and defended Bill, but to be honest, I too disagreed with some of Bill's views on what would best help the team. But disagreement can, and should, be kept civil. Especially in this community of Seahawks fans. Have any of you wandered onto any of the Niners fansites? Its difficult to pick up much news through all of the pointless name calling and small minded arguing!

It is so nice to have a site that represents my absolute favorite sporting team conduct itself so maturely. I am actually a little proud. Except for sometimes. Like right now.

Everyone has been so on edge, so frustrated with the play of this team, I mean, c'mon, this has been a tough couple of years. When a team looks and plays this bad, you look for answers. You angrily look for answers. And Bill, very consistently and very thoroughly, provided what in his experience as a FAN would be the best directions to go in. Now again, I disagreed with some of his answers. On Tim Ruskell especially. But articulating said disagreement in a respectful, adult fashion is the very least I could have done for someone who spent so much of his time working on a site I spend so much of time enjoying.

Sometimes when you are already mad and you read something you disagree with, the knee jerk reaction is to argue angrily. Thats what the R rated posts are for, which can, and should, be used. I'll miss Bill as a contributor. And I hope everyone has a great New Year. And, as always, GO HAWKS!!!!!!!

This has nothing to do about fan fare, the guy was throwing people under the bus all season. Talks about open competition and refused to start Forsett over Jones. He catered to vets, he lost the team. He's not a douchebag for losing. Holmgren lost last year and nobody said this stuff about him. It's that this kind of stuff has been going on all year. The guy was constantly out to spread the blame and didn't take accountability for the horrendous football this team played. He's throwing stuff at Pete Carroll because he feels he is slighted.

If he wants to throw stones, throw them at the Seahawks, not Carroll. The guy is probably a good guy, but he stoops to low levels far to often for a person who constantly preaches integrity and accountability.

give the guy a break, He was played like a fool. Carroll is not as innocent as everyone makes him out to be. He knew reggie was living in a mansion, he knew Mcknight didnt own a car or his GF was just hired by a booster.

THe NCAA is going to punish SC because of him. THe only reason the hawks knew he was available was because of the Seahawks lead attorney, which is Petes friend and SC grad.

I dont care for Carroll, but whats done is done and I just want my hawks to be winners!

Uh... the NCAA isn't going to do anything at the end of all this. And if they do its certainly not because of Carroll. Where a player lives is not against any rules. Its not his. Many students live in Mansions their parents own while attending that college..... and a guy driving a friends car is also not a violation. This whole thing is ridiculous and in large part created because so many teams are tired of the Dynasty they've held for so long. Now that Carroll is gone, they'll drop everything....just watch.

I am not excited about Carroll at all. The ADD personality is scary in the NFL, I just hope he takes his ritalin often and stays away from the draft.

We had such hope for a guy from Wa, your first interview as HC was motivating yet obviously not motivating enough to have the players behind you from the get go! wow we destroyed the Rams opening day; but so did almost every team that played them. your Coaching Staff was garbage and had no such luck of succeeding. Sad to see you go but you made your own bed by throwing player's under the bus (Classless). How about blaming yourself for the make shift staff you pulled together. anyways, I'm glad you are gone. I can't say that I am a PC fan nor that I will be? But time will tell...

IMO the classless one in this is Paul Allen. You all seem to make him out to be a god. Just because he has money and will spend it does not make him more superior. I have lost some respect for Mr. Allen. I don't know if it is the cancer or what but this does not seem very rational IMO. I'm sure I am the minority here from reading the postings.
--------------------------------------------------

Dude! you are a dumbass!!! PA may have cancer but he removed the previous cancer (our old Coach and most of his Staff) I guess beating cancer just takes balls to make a change when there is something you want and realize you can't get it with some of those around you. PA is the Man! not because he has a crap load of money but what he has done for Seattle. his ambitions are high and wants the best for Seattle.

It was telling of lo-jack that he refered to one guy as jim, the other coach carroll. I can see many players are pumped up, tatupu said that he only lost 1 game in his tenure at usc. I don't mind having a coach that taught lofa to be able to read plays so well. Paul Allen has lost mega millions to bring football to Seattle, just for the fans. Calling him classless is well classless.

I would bet that Jim Mora does not become a head coach in the NFL ever again.

He may end being a defensive coordinator for a NFL team, or a head coach at a college.

Good luck to him.

I believe that he was in over his head. Although he often gave the appearance that he was a mature leader, this behavior caught on camera and throwing his players under the bus in the media demonstrated he is still a kid and not ready for the big chair. He may lay blame on others for these recent events, but he should look into the mirror for answers.

MOra probably was referencing the chick-in-the-condo business. And while Pete may be a womanizer, what does that have to do with whether or not he can be a better coach than Mora? But i dont blame him for being somewhat bitter about the whole thing--its pretty obvious the Hawks kept MOra around as insurance, then went after Pete, knowing that if they could get Pete they'd dump Mora. Not a particularly classy or ethical way for Allen and Lieweke to operate, but understandable coming from ruthless businessmen.

If you dont think Allen and Lieweke were jerking Mora around while pusuing Caroll, check out the Lieweke interview--he talks in circles just like a politician to avoid answering any question relating to whether or not Seattle pursued Caroll while Mora was on the hook. They intended to keep Mora if they couldnt get their man, and while kinda slimy, its somewhat understandable.

So Mora has the right to be huffy, and of course he cant admit to it. That would only make him look worse. His problem is he cannot keep his mouth shut--he didnt in Atlanta, and he hasnt here--even now he's not empoloyed.

Perhaps Mora could have been a decent coach--if he handnt hired idiot cronies like Knapp. Now we'll never know. But I am still glad he's gone.

There is a saying that integrity is defined when nobody is watching. Hypocracy was defined in that clip. I think PA and TL absolutely made the correct decision in parting ways with this beady eyed moron. I am not sure Carroll is gonna beat the world here, but my hope is that the players can regain some confidence and start thinking like winners. Now, the jackasses on KJR will be directing thier hostilities at the new coach rather that just saying were are completely devoid of talent and the sun shines out of Mora's ass.
Mora didnt grow up after his "Atlanta experiment"...
written by Think7, January 13, 2010
...is whats obvious to me. This game of football is no longer a game but a business, and in business if you dont get the job done now then you are done. I had a good feeling from Mora when he first took over after listening to his press confrence, trouble is that nothing he talked about came to be. Mora deserved the ax in my opinion for many reasons, lack of integrity that he spoke so much about having, no game adjustments/plan, and his utter lack of understanding what works in the NFL today. It doesnt take a genious to see how horrible our secondary was the last couple years, and the guy in charge was supposed to be our head coach? I gave Mora the benifit of the doubt when he became coach, but I dont see how Carroll could be any worse at all. I could care less about a coaches life outside of football, if we become a winning team again, well thats all I care about. Mora was never going to be that guy, and it sure seems like he is referencing Pete Carroll in this interview, just one more example of his lack of everything he holds in high regard.

KJR
written by GnarlyHawk, January 13, 2010
These folks are fairly short sited. All it takes is one edict from the FO that KJR is off limits for interviews and pressers. They are flirting with their future. They may be making ratings right now w/ their loyalty and one-sided opinion. They fail to see that they can only ride the "Poor Mora" story so long before FA and the draft come along. Carroll does not strike me as a man that cares about winning his pundants over, either. He'll let these guys go on, and won't pay them any attention or provide them any access to his schedule.

That text message from Ruskell has so much more context now, too. Mora's idea of class and integrity are clearly not the same ideals my family brought me up with. You don't behave the way he does publically, his sense of comfort around his buddies is foolish. The Mora family is a closed door for this fan. He and his dad are better make the NFL a better place, unemployed.

Both could make the team as LB/DE depth positions. I seriously doubt they will be starters of course, but special teams and situational pass rushers are always in high demand.
