Per Adam Schefter at ESPN:

"Seahawks have promoted Director of Pro Personnel Will Lewis to Vice President/Football Operations"

You can see the bio of Will Lewis here. He has been with the Seahawks since 1999 and has had a lucrative career with the NFL.

Current General Manager John Schneider had this to say about all the staff changes that he has made recently:

"This is an exciting time for the Seahawks as we are combining experience, talent and loyalty in order to increase our overall effectiveness. These moves, in addition to the strong presence of Ruston Webster and John Idzik, should provide long-standing stability and leadership to the Seahawks front office."

Ruston Webster was retained due to his experience with the draft and salary capping.

I am actually happy about these moves. I hope that we can keep both Ruston and Lewis for the long term. Both seem very capable.

I'm glad we're hanging on to Ruston Webster. He was said to be a candidate for a couple of GM positions elsewhere and is another of those guys considered to be a draft guru. You can never have too many of those around as long as there's peace and harmony amonst the different components. I see the Seahawks having a very strong player evaluation team which should be able to turn up talent wherever they look. I'm hoping that Webster represents the best of what Tim Ruskell brought to the table and the worst was purged when he resigned and walked out the door. There are indications that was the case.

Nice to see (read) that you're still hangning around with us addicts.

So far, every move that the Hawks have made has been sound. In fact, the transformation has been impressive. The next major event is draft 2010. I have no doubt that Pete and Co. will be as impressive handling the draft and the roster as they have been in making over the front office and the coaching staff.

I'm drinking the kool-aid.

How many scouts?

Anyone have any idea how many total scouts they have in college and pro scouting?
