With DeWayne Walker basically saying he's out, a few names are coming to the foreground of the Seahawks search for a defensive coordinator:

  • Dan Quinn - Seattle Seahawks: Quinn was our defensive line coordinator this past year, which doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement of him. In reality, Quinn is an excellent coach though and probably was a better fit in 2009 to be our Defensive Coordinator than Bradley (he was probably a better fit for OC than Knapp too, but that's besides the point).
  • Jerry Gray - Washington Redskins: Currently serving as the secondary coach for the 'Skins, Gray has been a defensive coordinator before, holding the position in Buffalo for three years. The first two years, they were one of the best three teams in the league, but kind of stunk up the joint his last year there (hence, his last year there). It sounds like he would prefer to stay with the Redskins.
  • Gus Bradley - Long shot! Still, Bradley has not been let go yet and is connected to Carroll through Monte Kiffin. Since Carroll will be calling the defensive plays anyway, it could potentially happen.
  • DeWayne Walker - New Mexico State University: It appears that Walker has been pulling his name out of the hat, but consider him a dark horse candidate.

Rumor of not???? I find it interesting to speculate.

Carroll interested in Brandon Marshall.

Gus Bradley

If those were are true candidates then I would choose Gus Bradley. He has true upside out of them all. Second choice would be Jerry Gray since he has experience as a DC. Dan Quinn can bite me, and Dewayne Walker can stay in New Mexico. But, all in all Bradley probably make the most sense, since he is already in town. Gus might succeed even better since he has the connection to Carroll.

Brandon Marshal? Too funny. That guy has more character issues then anyone in the NFL. He would be a headache to our city. TJ Housh was enough of a headache just on the field with his "give me the ball crap". We do not need on and off the field issues. I agree that Brandon Marshal has talent, but what a pain in the ass he is and will be.

Who was the guy that calmed down Randy Moss when he came into the league? That is what Marshall will need!

I agree with ya there, Kurt, but with Carroll helping him out, Bradley may surprise all of us...

Keep Gus, Carroll will bring him up so he's not 'over his head'. I believe this is a guy we do not want to lose.

Jerry Gray interviewed for the HC job in Washington behind his boss's back, knowing full well he was just a token minority. That wont sit well in the NFL, especially not in the Hawks' new "Collaborative" "organic" or whatever management style. There is no way in hell that scumbag is coming here.
Gus Bradley

I agree with you Mek I think that Gus is a future talent that we do not want to lose. Besides Pete will be calling the shots on D anyway. Gus will be assisting Carroll with DC duties.
Gus Bradley?

I don't know, our defense could not stop anyone last year. He did nothing to show that he was able to help these guys improve as players. We stopped the run well which was a nice change but that doesn't mean anything if teams don't have to run against you because you can't get to the QB. We have players who have proven that they can rush the passer and under Bradley they could not get there. I don't think it's lack of talent, I think that it's his scheme or play calling. Everyone is so high on this guy but our defense sucked last year and unless Carroll is truly going to be in charge of the defense I don't think he's the right guy now, even if he may be in the future somewhere else.
The defense looked bad

Because the offense consistently put them out there. It's a lot to ask of a defense to pick up the slack for an offense that keeps going three-and-out or throwing interceptions. When the offense puts the defense in bad situations so many times then succeeding is an impossibility.

"Use all day leads to the boot structure breaking ugg boots for sale down, increasing the risk of a twisted ankle."
Pharmacist Hasan Ukra, who works in the flagship Boots store in London's Oxford Street, said: "Wearing these kind of boots could increase the risk of fungal infections due to the uggs outlet moist environment created.
"And I've seen a marked rise in ankle sprains due to the soft and comfortable nature of the boots."
