According to the USC Trojans official website, assistant strength and conditioning coach Jamie Yanchar has resigned to join the Seahawks for a similar position. Little is known about Yanchar but since USC has little injuries accredited to it yearly he seems to have done a great job. Coach Carroll is believed to be completely done with hiring his staff.

Mays will be the 3rd S off the board. Berry and Thomas are better prospects and Mays probably doesn't represent great value at #14. But I like the guy and wouldn't be pissed at all.
With the new development of all the S&C coaches added I wonder what our new coaching staff's take is on our talent.
Adding 3 S&C coaches tells me they think they have the proper talent, but it's the injuries that are hindering us. Which could point out that they may be okay with our OL as they have been the most injury prone. Might make S, DE, CB or RB more of a priority.
Just speculation, in no way do I believe OL isn't still top priority and in no way do I believe we won't take at least one O-lineman on day 1.

USC just posted it today Lars Hanson. I think you are thinking of Chris Carlisle. That was 4 days ago. Jamie Yanchar took over for Chris at USC 4 days ago and now Jamie left as well.

I'll be pissed if we take Mays with 14, especially if Berry and Thomas are still on the board. Where did this Thomas guy come from, I've only started hearing about him slightly before that Alabama game.
I do like the fact that Mays is a head hunter, we are lacking that fierceness for sure, but he doesn't seem to care who he hits. I've seen him destroy his own team just as much as the other...

Omar, Some times destroying your own players is a good thing. Our pussy corners will start making damb shure they make the play, because they know if they don't they could be hit by a freight train!

Omar Little, your description of Taylor Mays reminds me of Ken Hamlin.

I agree with you on the Ken Hamiln comparision seahawker. They are both very similar players, except Mays has 30 pounds on him and has 4.3 speed. They are great athletes but don't have the ability to make plays on the ball and seem to lack football intelligence. Mays is a freak of nature, he is the Vernon Davis of defensive backs. I wouldn't mind if we took him in the second but he is definitly not first round material, I just hope Oakland picks him so Pete is not tempted to spend #14 on him.

I'm also worried about taking a guy like mays who would require a lot of coaching since Jerry Grey did not have a lot of success in Washington with safties. Both Sean Taylor and Laron Landry have been highly inconsistant in the league and Landry is looking like a collosal bust on Mike Huff proportions.
I trust Grey with corners since Washington has had good ones, but I think safeties are another story

Strenghts: Incredible range, plays with wreckless abandon, good hands, excellent leaping ability, incredible speed, durable, freakish athlete.
Weakness: Doesn't always wrap up, backpedal needs some refining, hips aren't very fluid, change of direction isn't where it should be, looks for the big hit to much, average in coverage.
Also if taylor does not make is wieght down i think he can very well be a linebacker in the nfl.
