While Bradford, Clausen, Tim Tebow and Colt McCoy will all abstain from pigskin-tossery. Bradford looks like the #1 overall pick provided that his shoulder checks out and he throws well at his Pro Day in March. Dan LeFevour (Central Michigan Chippewas!) appears to be wavering a bit about whether or not he'll throw; really, no one had more to gain than him in throwing, but his arrogance got in the way and he announced he would not.

WR Jacoby Jones has got blazing speed, clocking in this morning at 4.28 (unofficial). I'll get all the relevant times and such posted a little later once a comprehensive list hits, but again, I would recommend you tossing the Combine on at www.nfl.com/combine. Throwing drills are starting now (7 am).

West Virgina Quarterback Jarret Brown is looking really good at the combine so far.

Why i think we dont need a RB in the draft and just sign a RB in free agency to complement j force.

Seems like the smaller guys have the top speed. No Calvin Johnson's in this group.

and it occured to me while watching that if you saw this video and it was a college highlight video, we'd all be clamoring that we really need a runner like this on the Seahawks and he'd be one of our pre-draft favorites.

We'll, of course the great news is that he is already a Seahawk AND all those highlights weren't against college competition at all but against the real deal so no one has to wonder how he'll translate into the big leagues. He's translated into Seahawks Blue very nicely thank you very much.

If you believe in fate, you have to believe that Forsett was destined to be here in Seattle after we lost him to Indy and he found his way back here. Even though I supported Ruskell while he was here, I didn't like him letting Forsett get claimed by Indy and I still have nightmares that Michael Bennett will grow into a all-pro DT/DE but there's no returning for him I fear. I didn't like everything Ruskell did and letting Forsett and Bennett get claimed on waivers were two of the things I strongly disliked.

Count me among those who thinks that we should get Forsett a good change of pace back for this season and see how he responds to having the load put on his shoulders. There's so much talk that he can't handle that kind of load and with the next season already counted on to be a rebuilding year, what better time to find out if we really need to draft a superstar running back or if we already have one in the making who only needs a change of pace guy to give him a rest now and then and to change up the running style to keep the defense honest.

We're never going to know how much Forsett can handle until we load him down and see how he bears up. We need to concentrate on building our offensive line and generating a pass rush along with improving our secondary this year and then with that foundation in place, we're ready to add the skill guys next year. It makes sense to me that we'd also try to find out about Forsett's ability to handle the big load at the same time so we're ready to make the correct choices next year on skill players. Do we draft someone to compliment Forsett as the featured back or do we draft the featured back for Forsett to back up? If we don't load him up and see how well he bears it, we may never know if he could have handled it and he may never become more than a change of pace back even though he might have been able to do so much more.

Here's what I love about Forsett. I like his instincts and how he hides behind his offensive line and then just explodes through the hole where he's often past the defensive linemen before they know he's coming through their hole. How many times have you ever seen a small guy like him in the NFL who can block well and drag defenders along for the ride when he's running the ball. He can block guys who have 50 lbs and more on him straight up. He may be stuck in a 198 lb frame but his mentality is that of a 250 lb bruiser who runs through poeple. I've seen Forsett run through two or three defensive backs and linebackers on purpose instead of trying to elude them. He likes the contact. That's my kind of runner. Dispite his dimutive size, he's very strong. He's also an above average receiver which never hurts in a Seattle offense. That about sums it up.

You can label him as one of Ruskell's shrimps if you want but he plays more like a big hurkin' prawn. smilies/grin.gif

great write up on forsett BillT! i love forsett, and when forsett was given the staring role, he handled it more than well. like his 123 yards vs arizona and his 130 vs the rams. and i also feel that we do need a change of pace back, a power runner...

that said, i was wondering what you think of ben tate, he has great size, 5-11 220lbs, and he ran a 4.45 fourty, plus he rins people over and has great acceleration to the line...
