Still, it seems a little surprising not to offer even the lowest tender to Laury, but perhaps the new folks just didn't like what they saw from him or weren't willing to secure that roster spot just yet. LBs are a strength for the Hawks, and Laury was only tangentially a part of that squad at this point. Also, just because he isn't tendered, doesn't mean he won't return to the team if no one else is interested. Time will tell.

Hopefully this is a sign that the new special teams coach realizes how poor our coverage unit is and really wants an overhaul.

Laury is a good player, and our best special teamer by far. It makes no sense to me to dump him, but the fact is we are loaded at LB so they must have figured he's expendable.

I wonder when/if they are going to tender Sims/Spencer/Tapp. These three will be snapped up in five minutes if they hit the open market. Even if we do not want them we can tender and trade for something. NO has already tendered 13 players on their team. Whats the hold up
