According to Jason La Canfora of NFL.com, Russell Okung's sprained ankle will keep him off the field for Seattle for the next 2-4 weeks.  With backup Ray Willis also out after having his knee scoped, the Seahawks' offensive tackle depth has become a lot more shallow.  Again.

Still, the news could be worse.  Okung didn't suffer a high ankle sprain, which would have kept him out for a few months, and the team seems committed to keeping Sean Locklear at right tackle so we should be able to avoid a repeat of his disastrous stint at LT.  None of us want to see Joe Toledo as our starting left tackle, but Mansfield Wrotto did a surprisingly okay job at the position last night, and Chester Pitts (if he's ever cleared by the team's medical staff) is a capable offensive tackle.

And while you never want to have substandard talent protecting your QB's blind side, between Alex Gibbs' zone blocking scheme and Jeremy Bates' bootlegs and roll-outs the Seahawks' new offense puts less of a premium on its offensive tackles than other systems (Mike Martz, anyone?).  Bottom line, the team can manage in the short term, but the sooner Okung comes back the better.
