At #60 the Seahawks selected Golden Tate, WR from Notre Dame. Liveblog continues below...

7:12 - Mike Johnson, OG from Alabama is snagged by Atlanta with 96th overall pick. The end! Tomorrow will be a more exciting day for the Seahawks -- two fourths, two fifths, and a sixth and seventh.

7:10 - Rennie Curran, LB from Georgia taken by Tennessee. He could be great for them, I think. Had an iffy year with the poor Georgia team.

7:07 - The Seahawks can no longer trade into the third round. Both remaining picks are untradeable as they are compensatory picks. Titans and Falcons will finish out the night...

7:03 - Bengals take Wake Forest CB Brandon Ghee. Finally, get that kid out of the green room! Who invited him?

7:01 - Saints select Jimmy Graham, TE from Miami at #95.

6:57 - The Indianapolis Colts select Kevin Thomas, CB from USC at 94th in the NFL draft.

6:54 - Houston just traded with Kansas City, who selects TE Tony Moeki from Iowa. That is the 93rd selection, the Colts are up!

6:49 - The Cleveland Browns select Shawn Lauvao, Tackle from Arizona State. No one likes Bruce Campbell after all!

6:48 - The Patriots called Everson Griffen, but did not select him. Rude alert! Could be another trade.

6:47 - Patriots take Taylor Price, WR from Ohio. Then, the 49ers take Navorro Bowman, LB from Penn State. Another solid pick in the NFC West.

6:43 - Carolina Panthers trade up with the Patriots (giving their 2011 2nd round pick!?!?!) to select Armanti Edwards. Uhm, okay. He's a QB/WR. Think Isaiah Stanback but small and way more expensive. Smooth move, exlax.

6:42 - Cardinals select WR Andre Roberts from the Citadel with the #88 pick. That's a solid pick, and they've got the depth to let him develop for a few years. Smart drafting by the Cardinals so far.

6:40 - Carroll: "What's really tough is to sit through this fourth round here. We're really excited about tomorrow, we've got great guys targeted. We want great competitors, people with great will, people who will take it farther than other guys." Carroll is a huge fan of Schneider, and making that clear.

6:38 - Denver Broncos take WR Eric Decker from Minnesota at 87, a guy we may have taken in the fourth round. Great pick by them.

6:37 - With the 86th Pick, the Eagles take Washington DE Daniel Te'o Nesheim! Go Dawgs!

6:37 - Pete Carroll live on NFLN --Obviously he has good things to say about all his guys that we drafted. What does he think of Golden Tate? "He was a tremendous threat for them, great respect for him. We anticipate he will ... return for us as well. Makes plays, makes touchdowns, tons of touchdowns, and he runs the football. Love the versatility he brings."

6:30 - The Cleveland Browns select Colt McCoy, QB from Texas. I sure hope Holmgren plans to start coaching him before too long... Colt McCoy gets all the pain and misery of being a Cleveland Brown, but with the paycheck of a 4th round selection rather than 2nd round.

6:28 - Cincinnati did not trade down one pick, don't know what they were talking about. They take WR Jordan Shipley with the 84th pick. Cleveland on the clock.

6:27 - Corey Peters, a DT from Kentucky was taken #83 overall by the Falcons.

6:21 - The Pittsburgh Steelers take Emmanual Sanders, WR from SMU. A voice-losing Mike Mayock likes the pick quite a bit.

6:19 - The Houston Texans have selected DT Earl Mitchell from Arizona. What is wrong with Everson Griffen that he remains out there past #80?!

6:17 - Broncos draft Center JD Walton from Baylor. Hum de dum. Good center. Etc.

6:15 - The 49ers traded the 79th pick to the Chargers. The Chargers select Donald Butler, LB from WASHINGTON! Go Huskies!!! Great place for him to land, he should get time on special teams and might break the starting line-up in the next year or two depending on how they handle their free agents to be...

6:13 - Sorry, had to eat dinner. Here's what just happened: Jacksonville took D'Anthony Smith, DT from Louisiana tech; Chicago took Major Wright, S from Florida, the Giants took Chad Jones, S from LSU, the Titans took Damian Williams, WR from USC that we had our eyes on, and Carolina took WR Brandon LaFell from LSU, another guy that I liked a lot.

5:57 - Dolphins take OG John Jerry from Ole Miss, brother of Peria Jerry the DT taken last year in the draft.

5:55 - Bills take DE Alex Carrington from Arkansas with the 72nd pick in the 2010 draft. He's a good pick for them in building the 3-4 defense they're moving to.

5:51 - Green Bay just acquired the 71st pick... the Packers select S Morgan Burnett from Georgia Tech. The Bears were almost certainly going to take him five picks later. Heh heh heh.

5:50 - Ravens take Oregon TE Ed Dickson at #70. Man, the Ravens might draft better than anyone in the NFL.

5:47 - Jared Veldheer, OT from Hillsdale selected #69 by the Oakland Raiders. Again, Al Davis is clearly dead. A great pick, and passing on Bruce Campbell? Insane. I love it.

5:45 - Chiefs select OG Jon Asamoah. A solid pick.

5:41 - CB Myron Lewis from Vanderbilt taken with the 67th pick by Tampa Bay.

5:40 - We're in the 3rd round now, by the way. The Lions just took a CB - Amari Spievey from Iowa.

5:38 - Pete Carroll on ESPN right now! He loves the ability to return, run after catch, thinks Golden Tate can dominate the field and especially help in the return game. We need that BADLY.

5:38 - St Louis selects Jerome Murphy, CB.

5:35 - Needed some time to recover. Here's who was taken:

  • 61 NYJ - Vladimire Ducasse - OG - Massachusetts
  • 62 NE - Brandon Spikes - LB - Florida
  • 63 IND - Patrick Angerer - LB - Iowa
  • 64 NO - Charles Brown - OT - USC

I also love that the Rams wasted the #1 pick on an overrated QB with an exploding shoulder, and that the Niners got suckered into taking Taylor Mays.

I was worried about the Niners having so many high picks this year, but they haven't used them very well, in my opinion.

I think you are incorrect about Taylor Mays. Certainly he wasn't the right pick at 14, but at 49. . . I think he will be a steal!

Congrats to Donald Butler!

Anyone think we'd take Bruce cambell at 4 pick 6 if he's available?
...
written by BrockS, April 23, 2010
All these years I primarily watched ESPN but after this year listening to Mike Mayock's analysis and picks..NFL Network from now on as long as Mayock works there..

Dude is amazing..
Cambell

I don't know if it would be the smartest pick but heck it sure would bring us closer to that strong O-line

in the 4th round to get him I think would be pretty amazing, i don't know if he fits the system, but maybe at Gaurd?

Only 11 picks left and Griffen is still there! Can this REALLY happen?!

Mayock is great. The problem is some of the other guys on NFLN.

D. Sanders, Michael Irvin, Brian Billick, Jason LaCanfora? No thanks.
Campbell & Griffen
written by Status One, April 23, 2010
Does Everson Griffen have a cocaine problem we don't know about? This is odd for him to drop this far. I saw mocks where the had him as high as #14 to us. Unless there's something seriously wrong with him, we could get an amazing pick up tomorrow (plus if Campbell is still there in later rounds I think it'd be a great value pick)

Campbell or Griffen. These two were projected first rounders by almost everybody, why not take a shot in round 4 on one of them, the risk is small and the payoff HUGE. Campbell and Okung can potentially be better than Gaither and Oher and cheaper for sure.

Draft Bruce Campbell and convert him to TE, LOL. But for real he'd make one hell of an RT or possibly a guard. Locklear is getting long in the tooth and Willis is not a fit for the ZBS.

I honestly feel we have had one of if not the best draft so far. Okung, Thomas, and Tate. Thats killer.
Colt
written by hawked, April 23, 2010
Bet "Chuckey" will coach Colt. Roger Roger... Staubach. tweet tweet. Homey is a GM bro. Happy for him nice draft.
