That's the word from Mora's press conference, according to Sando. Getting Wilson back would be huge, not just because he is better than Jennings and Fisher, but because it enables us to run a solid nickel defense which will be necessary against Manning and the Colts. Fisher could play dime back in a pinch.

Also:

Jim Mora says Ken Lucas (groin), middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu (hamstring), guard Rob Sims (oblique) and free safety Jordan Babineaux (neck) should be ready to go. Having Lucas and Babineaux healthy at this point is absolutely critical if the Seahawks want to stand a chance against Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne. (-MP)

UPDATE: Danny O'Neil has a more complete write-up.

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck? "Matt is coming along," Mora said. "And making progress. I saw him [Tuesday] afternoon and he felt good. The hold up quite simply with Matt is he can't run yet and when he takes deep breaths there's pain. So when you're a quarterback, you have to run a little bit and in a game you have to take deep breaths. So that's the hold-up there."

DSA,
you were thinking that because some of our "the sky is falling" types were claiming that when the news came out that they had high ankle sprains. They probably got the idea that a high ankle sprain is season ending because we put Weaver on IR a few years back because of one...the reason we did that was that we needed the roster space, but didn't want to loose weaver.

Sure is looking more and more like Walt is done.

Regardless of whether or not Walt is done, I would have bet anything this was his last season with us anyway so its not a big surprise. Lets face it, Walt has two options come Feburary, he can retire as a pro bowl calibre player like Ogden or become a cap casualty and eek out a year or two more in the NFL like Pace. Either way he won't be a seahawk come the 2010 season. I just hope we can find a replacment worthy of even TRYING to fill Walt's shoes.

Wilson back is huge, and not just from a defensive view. I think if it becomes a close game like last week we will use him as a kick/punt returner. Correct me if i'm wrong, but he is the fastest player on the team and who can forget his big returns in 07? Special teams will put us up if its a close game. Coach Mora obviously feels this way LOL.

Just saw this from Adam Caplan, awesome!
The Seahawks worked out UDFA QB Mike Reilly today.
Reilly is good

I always liked Reilly. I wrote about him a few times over at NSS and got to see him play live in college. He broke many of Kitna's prior records with the Wildcats, including passing yards if my memory serves me. Good WCO fit, surprised they didn't take him instead of Teel after all of the attention the coaching staff gave him leading up to the draft.

I understand what you're saying, but let's face it: At full strength across the board with no injuries anywhere we wouldn't stand much of a chance against the Colts. This is going to be a loooong season...
What is loooong?

Too early to assume a long season. I'm thinking a long season would be nice, as the off-season felt really long this last year since we missed the playoffs. I hope the season is really long.

Just think, when we get these guys back, they'll be fresher than their opponents. So they could be faster, quicker, and all that for a couple of weeks.

Great news on Wilson, that is big. Getting Tatupu back is nice as well. Hopefully he learned how to bring people to the ground from Hawthorne.

Sorry to ask a question unrelated to the article but does anyone know if we have a draft pick in every round next year.I know we have two picks in the first and one in the second but did we trade a pick away last year with all of our moves or do we still a pick in rounds 3-7.Any info would be appreciated.
AND THERE IT IS....... Mora said

As noted on FOX SPORTS - "Mora says he doesn't know for sure if Jones will play at all this season. The team will back..."

Let them rest

If I were in charge, every player that has any sort of significant injury would sit the Indy game out. Even and Matt and Walt did play, the Hawks are going to get killed. Indy is one of the best teams in the league, full of veterans that know how to finish off a weak opponent. All of the injured players should not risk re-aggravating their injuries in a game the team has almost no chance in.

I know this will get flamed, and I would love to be wrong, but come on. We all know what is going to happen on sunday.

dude Indy is really not that great of a team, above average but nothing to get all worked up over. They have a good passing offense, but if we can pressure Manning we can throw off that whole offense, their running backs aren't striking fear into anybody.

They have one of the softest defenses in the league, especially now with Freeney out. If we stick to the run game to limit the amount of time the Colts have the ball then I would say we stand a damn good chance. Hopefully we can pick up where Miami left off and only let the colts have the ball for like 1 quarter total, except we win in the end.

So is it wrong of me to want the hawks to use the game plan on taking the 15 yard unsportmanslike and hurt Manning? That and a miracle are the only ways I see winning on Sunday.
Manning and Colts and Wayne! Oh My!
written by LouieLouie, September 30, 2009
I'm not afraid of them and neither are the Hawks. Perhaps some addicts need to go to Oz to get a little courage. I don't expect the Hawks to get blown out. If the Hawks are a respectable team, which I think they are, they will be competitive against Manning and Co. This could even be a chance to catch the Colts sleeping in their own barn. With a few good bounces of the ball, some solid play, and a few field goals, we could sneak out of Indy with a win.

If they get blown out in Indy, it could start to get ugly. But who knows, maybe Seneca will start playing like, you know, a starting QB. That could be fun to watch.
