What to Watch for Tonight
The Seahawks will step onto the field tonight for their final exhibition game of the season. After tonight, it all counts. After tonight, at least 22 people will be removed from the team. After tonight, some of those 22 people will never again step onto a football field competitively. So, who is fighting for their job tonight?
Lance Laury - The linebacker needs to prove once and for all that he is invaluable on special teams. He is currently third in the depth chart at any of the three linebacker positions, and really he is probably fourth at MLB behind David Hawthorne and DD Lewis.
CJ Wallace and Jamar Adams - A crowded secondary got even more crowded with the addition of former Arizona standout Nate Ness yesterday. Ness is unlikely to make the cut, but Wallace and Adams are going to fight like Vick owns'em for the fourth safety spot. Wallace easily should make the team on special teams, but if the Hawks decide that Adams' speed and tackling prowess are more important in-game, he may pull off the upset.
Michael Bennett - Bennett is fighting for a roster spot against 79 other players. He won't be making the team as one of the top 8 D-linemen, but he has shown thus far that he is more valuable than most depth and could prove incredibly valuable next year if we can hold on to him. If Cory Redding goes down, Bennett is the ideal backup to Lawrence Jackson on the left side as he has size and good power. He can take two blockers or he can slide in and play three-technique. I think Bennett is worth more than most bubble players simply because Redding's role in this defense is so crucial. Nick Reed is worth watching too, but I would be shocked if his roster spot isn't cinched.
Mike Teel - Teel has beaten out Jeff "Toxie" Rowe, but that doesn't mean he's beaten out every other quarterback that is two days away from being cut. Teel needs to show that he is learning the offense, making the right throws, and generally understanding what the role of the quarterback is in Greg Knapp's offense.
Deion Branch - Is he out there for long? If so, that's probably a bad sign for his future with the Seahawks.
Courtney Taylor & Ben Obamanu - This is the battle of the night. Who will be the fifth WR kept? It's one of these two, almost certainly. Taylor has blown Obo out of the water thus far, but Obamanu could prove that we need to keep six WRs rather than five.
What'd I miss?

And I agree, the only reason Branch would be out there for an extended period of time is to show him to other teams...I'm thinking they're gonna save him for desperate situations, and the playoffs...
oh, and you missed the battle royale between Mare and Cotou...(or however it's spelled)

Like kelphelper said, the biggest omission is the Mare/Coutu battle royale.

If you go by preseason then why do we take Morrah over a guy who's had 3 years learning with the team.
Morrah may have more upside but he needs to show it tonight. Like that catch Newton made for the TD. Or maybe not. Maybe they'll just keep him

Ness was an undrafted rookie out of Arizona who was cut by the Jets this week.
Anybody have any thoughts? It just doesn't seem to make since. I feel like we already have plenty of young safety prospects and it's not like we'll have much time if any to look at Ness.
