Danny O'Neil spoke with Tim Lewis today after practice, and confirmed that Jordan Babineaux won the starting job over Brian Russell. (In other words, Lawyer Milloy was not brought in as a starter.) Funny that Babs never really took snaps with the first team in the preseason. I think it caught just about everyone by surprise, most of all Brian Russell. But hey, I'd argue that our defense got quite a bit better. Babineaux is obviously known for his big plays; let's see how many more he has when he's actually on the field for more than 30% of the snaps.
Matt Pitman says that Lawyer Milloy looked to be in fantastic shape and his energy increased throughout the practice. He will be pushing Babs and will probably come in as strong safety from time to time on rushing downs.
Also - unrelated news: Deion Branch fielded kickoffs today for the first time since he's been in Seattle (I believe). I love it.
