and are now Devin less.
Wow, that was bad.
Devin Moore has been waived from our practice squad, as has Tom Williams (LB). They have signed former UW running back and preseason standout (if Oakland had such a thing) Louis Rankin to the practice squad. Presumably there is one more move coming, since, y'know, they cut two and added one.
Thanks to Tom for the heads up!

Elliot, it's practice Squad. Jeff Garcia is like 40 years old :p He doesn't have any PS eligibility.

Teal could go on the PS if we really wanted and put Garcia on the team.
However Don't think that will happen Garcia was never great and is now to old, and doesn't really want to play. Garcia isn't going to happen!

I agree with Hawksfanmsvl, I think the last spot is going to be used to bring back Coutu for depth at kicker in case Mare screws up again.
Either way, I liked Devin Moore but that's awesome that we added Rankin to the PS.

I think someone else is getting sent to the P squad to make room for Mare on the Hawks' roster.

I love the idea of bringing back Coutu and having a good punter as well as a field goal guy. Who knows, the kid may develop in a year or so.
P.S. I'm truly sorry for offending my Montana bretheren with my Rush Limbaugh comment last week.
Actually i'm not a Repub or Dem. Just a disabled vet with a brain injury, sometimes i say impulsive things
and regret them later. One day i'd like to drive to qwest field to see my first football game in person, and would love to meet some of you in person, maybe have beer. I'm still bitterly hurt from losing the Sonics.

I really liked Moore in the pre, and didn't notice Rankin really, so can't comment on relative merits, but I think Moore will be very good in the future, so hope this doesn't bite us later on.

Rankin scored a long touchdown in the preseason against us and had a good game against us last year. He could be a great pickup.

Sweet! Rankin has 4.4 40 straight-line speed--though he isnt as agile as one might like. He is also an extremely tough runner and excels at one-cut-and-go, so would seem a very nice fit with the Zone Blocking Scheme.
He ran very well against us in preseason. I noticed him before that TD, and wondered aloud to my family if he might be available via trade for cheap, since the Raiders have like 10 decent RB's. Now we have him for free! And of course, if I am getting all excited for nothing and he doesnt pan out--no harm no foul! But I am excited! If he looks good, we might be able to dump the utterly worn out Edgerrin James.
Too bad about Devin Moore. I liked his speed and effort. Good luck, buddy!

I wouldn't worry about it MontanaMike. It is pretty tought to get this crowed upset. No bad language just a different opinion. That is always welcome here at Seahawk Addicts. A trip to Qwest should be in every seahawk fans list of to-do's. My last seahawks game was when they played in the King Dome, so I too need to make a trip. Thanks for serving.
I couldn't tell if it was Rankin that was so good or our backup D that was so bad on the big TD run in the pre season. His run was sorta simmilar to the first long TD run by Gore. Edge is gone after this year, maybe sooner, he could be an option if TR does not want to use a draft pick on a HB.

Love the Rankin signing. I know we all love Forsett, but I could see Rankin taking the #3 RB spot on this squad. Great speed and size and can help in the return game. Wouldn't be missing much if Forsett were to be replace by Rankin. Hey, maybe the E. James experiment ends with Rankin moving to the #2 back if he impresses.
