The Seahawks have become the, I dunno, sixth or seventh? team to add a sponsored practice patch to their uniform. Matt Hasselbeck asked "Is the NFL becoming Nascar?" Well, no, but maybe soccer. Unfortunately, I can't get the picture to come up at work (they have all sorts of random crap blocked), but here is the link to the picture in question.
What do you guys think of the practice patch controversy?
(Update: The picture is below thanks to the Seahawks website)

Who cares what they wear during practices? They could wear Doritos sponsored halter tops and it wouldn't bother me. Just keep them off during game time.

The only reason I have any problem with it is because I don't want it to be a stepping stone to wearing them during the game. Beyond that, I agree with WiiHawk as I could care less what they wear during practice. After training camp, they don't let us watch practice so who are they advertising to?

Hass would've approved if the patch was for the "Republican National Party".

Damn right, Hass is a man who believes in keeping his money.
Let them advertise on the practice jersey's. Only half of america will see them when the Hawks get their coverage of training camp on NFLN.
Yeah right, Bing sucks anyways...

NFL is Commercial? No....

The NFL is second only to Nascar in being a commercialized sport. I mean there are people who watch the SB just for the commercials! As far as picking endorsements go, at least Mr. Allen is keeping it close to home in going with Bing, an upstart search engine created by Microsoft to compete with Google. I officially dont care, although I do hope that this doesnt prove to be the tipping point that leads to advertisements on gameday uniforms.
Go Hawks!

Bad idea. Just a stepping stone to wearing them during the season.

practice jersey patches...I hear that the Tampax brand is looking to put their patch on a jersey. Too bad the Raiders played tough on Monday. Maybe the Panthers would be interested.

They should sellout space on the practice jerseys as much as possible. It's good business.

As long as the Seahawks don't have to share the profits, I have no problem with that. The more money the Seahawks make, the more money they're going to invest into making the team even better.

Other than the fact that Bing sucks, I've no problem with it. It's on the practice jersey which means I never have to look at it ...

Didnt forbes report the Hawks lost money last season? I think it's a given that they will look for ways to add to the revenue stream and I like anything they can do that doesnt cost me more money.

All this advertising crap is getting ridiculous...I don't mind it on a practice jersey, but it's just another incremental step towards gametime...and the sounders jerseys are pathetic...something you'd expect out of a youth soccer league, except that it's a national company instead of, say, Joe's Insurance...

What is the problem with the Sounders jersey nightwolf? The advertisment for X box or the teal color? Either way they too are keeping it in the Seattle family advertising microsoft products. The MLS is about one or two rungs above youth soccer anyway. Watching one of their games and then watching a team from Europe is night and day skill level wise. Europe is also worse when it comes to advertisements on the jerseys.

Yeah over here in Europe jersey sponsorship is BIG business, don’t particularly like it however its something I’ve gotten used to. Only find it really objectionable when a team I like end up being sponsored by a company that sucks lol
I would hope that this is not a step towards corporate logos on NFL jerseys (an idea that I think most definitely sucks) I my opinion there is no real room to place significant advertising on an NFL jersey. With numbers front and back and team logos and TV numbers on the sleeves and shoulders the patch shown would only ever be legible in close up shots therefore predominately ineffective.
Soccer shirts on the other hand have no numbers on the chest hence large corporate sponsorship.
Bottom line is a big NO from me.

The North Face Jackets came from North Face Canada which do a better job for keeping you both warm and dry. The cotton and wool can attract damp. The cotton next to your skin so that it can absorb your sweat, it also leave you feeling chilled and damp. The top quality synthetic fabric of the North Face Mens Jackets is designed to wick moisture away from your skin and encourage the moisture to travel to the next layer. This is what is known as "breathing". The fabric allows the moisture generated by sweat and exercise to pass through the fabric, and the fabric doesn't trap the moisture and become damp. A natural fabric such as cotton doesn't do this satisfactorily, and will get damp over a period of time. Now that the North Face Down Jackets Womens Sale on our online shop, all are cheap and high quality, you will like it.
