Thirty of the 80 Seahawks that were on this roster as of last week had practice squad eligibility. The majority of them have since been cut. Who do the Hawks keep around on their 8-man Practice Squad?
Ten of those 30 made the team -- Michael Bennett, Nick Reed, Derek Walker, Red Bryant, Aaron Curry, Max Unger, Mansfield Wrotto, Kyle Williams, Mike Teel, and Cameron Morrah. Of the other 20, presumably 8 will wind up on our practice squad, though it is of course possible that we take players cut by other teams for our PS. We'll assume that doesn't happen.
- Devin Moore - This is a no-brainer. Moore didn't do enough to get signed by another team, but the Seahawks probably like what they saw on Thursday. More importantly, Moore is a set of legs to take carries in practice. That's very important.
- Jeff Rowe - Plenty of other QBs got cut today, but the Hawks like something they've seen in Rowe. We signed him to our 53-man roster in December, taking him off the Bengals' practice squad. He is another arm to take reps in practice, which is important.
- Courtney Greene - The sole draftee not to make the team, expect Greene to get a chance to continue proving himself.
- William Robinson - We have very little depth at tackle, and Robinson is a decent one. We'll stash him on the PS knowing that no one else is going to pick him up. If we need a tackle, we could bring him up and move Derek Walker to the practice squad.
- John Tereshinski - Maybe, maybe not, but I don't see there being a reason for the Seahawks to keep Joe Newton around any longer. Project Newton is done.
- Logan Payne - He could wind up on a 53-man roster, especially after his TD on Thursday. Still, the Hawks will keep a WR, either him, Bumpus or Hass. Maybe two, but for now, I'll assume one and say it's Payne.
- Jamar Adams - I still think that Mora likes Adams and thinks he can turn him into a player. I could be off, but what harm is there in keeping a great tackler?
- Brandon Coutu - Sorry, but I don't necessarily think he's going to get signed. Kickoffs matter. He could be taken off our practice squad if a kicker goes down with an injury, but he should make it to the PS tomorrow.
What do you guys think?
