With Brandon Mebane questionable for tomorrow's game, the Seahawks gave out a piece of information that I found pretty interesting: Red Bryant was inactive last week because the focus was going to be on stopping the pass (take that, Steven Jackson!). This week, as the Hawks focus on the run and Frank Gore, Red Bryant will almost certainly be a key cog in the rotation, while it is possible that one of the 3-tech tackles might be inactive (except that, because Mebane is injured, he would likely be that inactive 3-tech this week).

It's an interesting tactic, and one that I hadn't really seen coming. When you want to stop the run, you keep different people active than when you focus on the pass. Presumably against more balanced teams we'll have a more balanced D-Line. It seems like in previous years, the focus had always been on just keeping the healthiest and best 45 active, but Mora, Quinn and Bradley appear to be taking it a different direction.

What do you guys think? Should we always have our best and brightest on the field, or should we have our best matchups on the field?
