Aaron Curry was fined $5,000 for "unnecessary roughness." The same unnecessary roughness that he was not called for in the game? Sorry, but that still absolutely floors me. If the refs don't see it, but its still a "penalty," then why have refs at all? Can't Goodell just sit in his office levying "penalties" 'til the cows come home?
Steven Jackson was also fined $5,000 for striking Curry in the head and Richie Incognito was fined $12,500 for two unncessary roughness penalties. It was a $15,000 penalty, but he also won the league's $2,500 "Ironic Name of the Week" contest, which offset a portion of it.
