Tatupu May Not Be Out for Season  E-mail

According to Gregg Rosenthal over at PFT, Lofa Tatupu could return in "a few weeks" due to further tests revealing only a partially torn pectoral muscle. Jim Mora had said last night that Lofa would be lost for the season because of the muscle being fully torn.

Lofa's presence is a huge boost for the defense, but backup David Hawthorne has shown that he's more than a serviceable backup when called upon. Still, Lofa's instincts and ability to read an offense are things that can't be replaced. This would be a huge sigh of relief if the muscle is indeed partially torn.

This story just broke, so we'll follow up with more when it hits.

People ultimately go to watch the Seahawks, not Tatupu. They're just reporting that Tatupu may not have to have surgery and a long rehabilitation. That's newsworthy. It isn't about giving people incentive for buying tickets.

Bring him back from injury (if he can come back) ONLY if we're going into the playoffs....otherwise I'd rather let him rest up the rest of this season and be 10000% for next year. He's been banged up 3 seasons in a row and is still hurting from last year. If he can come back and the Hawks are sucking it up, I hope we don't bring him back for some meaningless games and he injuries himself even worse.

It won't matter unless they throw me the ball more. I am so good. I am the best. If we want to win, just throw me the ball! Throw me the ball man. Just throw it my way. i am open 95% of the time. No one can cover e. i am the best. Throw me the ball!

The season is already a mess- no use rushing him back. I'm sure they'll postpone any decisions regarding his status on the roster until we see what happens in week 8 and 9. No use bringing him back unless we have a remote shot at the playoffs. Same goes for Walt.

And that Housh comment was hilarious. lol

on another note- depending on how well David Hawthorne does this season as a replacement, anybody wonder what he'll fetch as trade bait? He could be a starter for at least a quarter of the teams in the league. Any thoughts?

small consolation for a season that's already in the toilet. I agree with the folks saying don't rush him back. Get him completely healthy.

Whoopy Dooo..........

Big Freaking deal. It is not like we were winning every game with him in the line up. Get real people, he is an over rated, undersized, and over paid average line backer.

"but backup David Hawthorne has shown that he's more than a serviceable backup when called upon"

say that after Gore ran 4 207 yards when he went out in the SF game I may just be a fan but i blame just about all of that 207 on Hawtrhrne

"on another note- depending on how well David Hawthorne does this season as a replacement, anybody wonder what he'll fetch as trade bait? He could be a starter for at least a quarter of the teams in the league. Any thoughts?"
u can guess my thoughts.... he pretty much lost us the SF game.......2 50+ yard runs up the middle Tatupu may or may not have stoped him... but u can still blame Hawtrhrne 4 not stopping him it was 14 points how can u people forget that
