More bad news: Rob Sims has an ankle sprain. Out 3-6 weeks, probably closer to 4 weeks. The hits just keep coming.

Most unfortunate, and it'll severely impact us for those next couple games we have to win. In the last two games, I thought Frye's play really deteriorated when he had to play next to Wrotto instead of Sims.

If they slide Vallos into this spot, that might not be as drastic a hit as some think. Vallos was a guard at Wake Forest (didn't play center, really, until he was on the Seahawks), and that's a much more natural position for him.

The Mansfield Wrotto era now begins!
I wonder what Darrell Jackson is up to these days.
Nice trade, Ruskell.

oh come on, you can't tell me you would rather have D Jax on our team than Wrotto. I'm calling BS on you. We traded a whinny little girl who couldn't catch a cold who was going on 30 for a fourth round pick. Not bad considering Randy Moss went for a fourth rounder.
If you really want to bash Ruskell on that you really have it out for that man.

Funny how Jackson is a "whiny little girl" now that he's not on our team, but he had 10 TD's in 10 games his last season with us--despite playing with a degenerative knee injury.
And he still gets hammered for his drops. Yet, Nate Burleson is a hero since he's had maybe 6 100 yard games in 4 seasons in Seattle, and so far this year is one of the NFL leaders in dropped passes. Nate has yet to gain 70 catches or 700 yards here.
Im not saying Nate isnt a good player, but for god's sake, the man has yet to perform even close to the level Jackson maintained for 6-7 years here. Enough with the Jackson hatred. Branch did the same holdout thing to NE, and look how poorly he's done here. Same deal with Jackson. Jackson would have been better off staying here, and Branch would have been better off staying in NE. At least Jackson has multiple knee injuries and a distinct lack of qb talent to excuse his poor performance of late.
Wrotto was a reach, and hasnt panned out, but Jackson is out of football as far as I know. I still think it was retarded not to bring him back last season. We got Colbert instead--and how did THAT work out?! Anyway, that trade was a wash. The bigger problem is that no Seahawk WR since has EVER replaced Jackson's production, or penchant for making third and long receptions late in games.

It all comes down to the O-line. If the QB has time, or if the line can create some holes, our running game works and our passing game simply gets better. Jackson was a beneficiary of a great O-line and an excellent run game. No matter who we have today, they will not excell until we fix our O-line. Our QB needs time to trhow the ball and time is required for our receivers to get open. The Colts' receivers can ALL be good. They are good for the simple reason that their O-line provides enough time for Manning to throw to them. Granted, Manning probably needs less time than most QBs, but he does get time from that O-line.
They always say that the game is won or lost in the trenches. We need to win those battles instead of looking at our WRs, QBs, or running backs. If Ruskell uses our two first rounders next year to pick up O-line help, then we have a great future. Our team is set to do some damage, and the D will be better if they learn to get off the field on 3rd downs.
I am an optimistic Hawks fan - I don't think you can be a pessimist and cheer for the Hawks.

I think alot of people tend how Housh did. Eight catches for 103 yards. Thats a bright spot.
