All signs are pointing to Hasselbeck starting on Sunday against Jacksonville. Burleson stated today that Hasselbeck received more reps with the first string offense and he had some ZIP on his deep balls. You can read the article here.

Stay tuned for more details on practice today shortly.

if he starts we will win this weekend. Now we need the line to raise their level and protect our QB
Looking forward to Sunday.

Not a good idea. I hope he doesn't get hurt worse.

I'm with HawkFan, this is a bad idea. With a third string LT and LG, an injury prone C and rookie RG, all things point to another injury. Ray Willis had two holding penalties called on him last week. Even if Jones was coming back, I still wouldn't like our chances of keeping Hasselbeck upright.

Coach Mora better sit down with the offensive line and challange them to take care of Matt. Tell them if you want a futre with this team you better start to show it this weekend.
Speaking of OL does anyone think we should try to a diff starting line up. Either Spencer atguard or Vallos at guard. maybe Unger at Center and both at guard. Vallos plaid well at Center expect one game where he didnt snap well. Anyone have any thoughts on this.

I like it. We need him to be sharp for the Cards' game the following weekend. I find that when people are out for a bit, the first game back will be a little rusty. With Matt, we have a good chance of winning this weekend. Hopefully we pull that game off. When we face the Tards', we definitely need an accurate and efficient Matt.

Say what you will about Mora, he definitely wants to win. We need this kind of attitude from or coaches.

Time To Step Up O-Line

Time for the rag-tag offensive line to get some cohesiveness this week. We can't afford for Hasselbeck to lose more time because he came back prematurely.

I like to hear this, I am an optimist and think we have a legit shot at playoff contention still with our team, but i think that it can only happen if we win the next 2 games and get to 3-3 at the bye, i just dont think if we win both of them we can rebound strong enough. And hasselbeck gives us a better chance to win than seneca, even with a 75% hasselbeck. and honestly jacksonville is one of the worst pass rushing teams in the league right now, if this was almost any other team this week i wouldnt be ok with it, so i hope to see him out there and go hawks!

Yea Boi!!!

"If you come at the king, you best not miss" Let them try to get too Matt, he'll torch their 31st ranked pass defense!!

Not a good idea starting Hasselbeck? I think the importance of these next two games aren't lost on Mora and he knows as we've been saying that if we lose them, you can pretty much forget the rest of season. We'll be in too big a hole. Right now these next two games are our season.

If Matt can play, we have to start him if we intend to keep the season alive. If we jump out on someone and get a good lead built up, I would endorse pulling Matt to avoid injury but he has to go if he can and get us those two wins agains the Jags and Cards.

If Hasselbeck is half actor of Tom "De Niro" Brady we can win this game easily.

For real though, do you guys agree with Ray Lewis' comment about how the NFL will be playing touch football with QBs in a few years? Watching the calls in that Ravens/Patsie game convinced me.

Matt starting with our line is a gamble but it is probably A must game for the season.Being at home will help.Where is our run game when we need it?

It's a roll of the dice. If his injury is exacerbated, you'll wish we hadn't played him. I'm here to tell ya from personal experience that rib injuries hurt like hell and if he gets sacked even once, I'll be suprised if he stays in the game. If he can throw accurately that will be another surprise.

Teel looked good in the pre-season. I hope we some of him soon to get a better idea of what we need to do in next year's draft.

#12 is going to go a long way towards winning this one, so if you're going to the game, scream your fucking lungs out as usual. They're not used to it and they're not going to be able to handle it.

Maybe Hass will throw the ball out of bounds when nobody's open instead of taking a 5 yard loss? We can only hope.
Oh snap!

smilies/grin.gif That's it guys! This Sunday is a win! Now the only thing that's kind of iffy, is the AZ game. We should still be able to come away with a win, seeing as the Cards have only proven so far, that last year was a fluke.
All of a sudden, going 3-3 into the BYE, seems alot more attainable. GO HAWKS!!!
Positive sign

One, Jacksonville is one of the worst pass rushing teams in the league.
Two, this is a win or die game.
Three, we need a leader on the field to put things together and restore player' confidence.
Go banco !

Once again i find myself agreeing with billt. We need Hass to come and give us agood lead and then pull him for protective reasons. I noticed Seneca plays sharper and with more confidence when he comes in after Hass, i don't know why. Also Hass comes through in the red zone, whereas with Wallace we have to hope that Mare can give us 3.
It wasn't the o-line

That got Matt injured, it was his poor decision making. Never being a big Matty fan, that one play really set back my opinion of him further, just stupid on his part.

I still wish we traded him for picks last offseason, it would have been nice to get more value out of the draft. I just didn't see his return to form and ability to stay healthy at draft time; still don't.

I'd rather take a rebuild year deliberately, than deal with this injury bug crap and poor decision making. At 1-3, it is easy to feel this way. At 10-3, maybe Matt can earn some of my trust back. It's too bad Seneca is losing my trust in his decision making, can't help but wonder if he's set back b/c he didn't get to train as a starter this off season. IDK. This offseason, I'm hoping for big change. A left tackle and a QB - what some of us wanted last year.

Hass is good either at home or against mediocre opponents and this week he has both of those going in his favor against Jacksonville. Matty has always struggled against top notch opponents and on the road. He wants the ball and he's going to score!
We should be 2-3 on Monday.
