Crabtree Signs With The Niners  E-mail

PFT is reporting, per Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com and Adam Schefter of ESPN, that Crabtree has just signed with the Niners. You can read the article here. Should we be concerned about this when the Niners come to town in December? Should we be concerned about the NFC West title at this point? I think both answers should be yes at this stage. I also feel that Shaun Hill is not that great of a QB yet and he will start showing what I mean in the next few games the Niners play.

What do you all think about this development?

The only thing we need to be concerned about is fixing our own problems.

I will bet that Singletary has a new name on his doghouse "Crabtree"

It adds a new dimension to the SF offense, something they didn't have previously (a geniune threat at WR). It can only help the Niners in my opinion.

I think because everyone pegged us as taking Crabtree at 4 and we didn't, coupled with the hold out because he wanted more money that he will have a chip on his shoulder everytime he comes to Seattle. He's going to want to show us what we missed out on. The guy is a douchebag, but he is a dynamic reciever that could prove problematic for us going forward.

Two things:

1. I think that we will find out if Crabtree is really outstanding or if he was the beneficiary of a VERY receiver-friendly system. I will also find out if his speed, which has been in question, is legitimate.

2. I agree that Shawn Hill isn't a great QB, but he is a good game manager, which fits the SF power running game/solid defense style.

Yes, we need to worry about Crabtree. At this point, we need to worry about everyone we play.

I doubt seriously if we'll ever be sorry we drafted Curry and let Crabtree slide down to SF. Curry will become an outstanding player. I think Crabtree has a lot more questions to answer than Aaron does as far as becoming a legitimate NFL superstar goes. Crabtree still might get there if he can check that massive ego and decide that he still has some things to learn. I still see another TO coming up.

Only pansies would be concerned about that horse toothed diva. Bring it. Curry will show him why he was drafted at 4 rather than CrapTree when the 9ers come to town.

Let me make something clear. I would in NO way wish we picked Crabtree over Curry. I have a Curry jersey and literally jumped for joy when we picked him. I'm simply saying he's going to come here and try to prove something.
Considering that the 49ers are better than the Hawks without him...

...whenever he is ready to contribute for them, he likely will help then widen the gap further. He is obviously talented, and while he may never be a world-beater, he will help their team in a position of tremendous need. Lets just hope for out collective esteems that curry can lay crabtree out on a screen pass or something the next time the hawks and niners play.

Crabcake won't be a huge factor this season since he missed all of training camp and has no knowlage of the 9er play book. Also I really doubt he is in top shape either. If anything he will hurt the 9ers since they gave an egomanic a very incentive laden contract and will try to get their top pick in action before he is ready. For this year we don't need to worry about Crabcake.

I too doubt Crabtree has ANY positive effect on the 9ers for a good while. He's going to need at least a month to get into game shape, and he will probably strain a Hammy or something, wich will set him back further. Next year will be the soonest we have to worry about him.

Though ANYONE over 6' will beat Jennings or Fisher for a Red Zone TD. Even a sloppy, out of shape Crabtree.

One thing that has always bothered me: The Flag Route into the endzone works like magic when other teams do it to us--yet we only run 1 or 2 a year and it NEVER works for us. Same with the screen--works against us, but never FOR us.

It just isnt fair!

I'm not worried about Craptree. He hasn't shown very good intellect by holding out this long and will need to get into game shape anyways. WRs typically need a couple of years to become comfortable with the playbook. He doesn't have burner speed like Percy Harvin, so they can't use him in screens and stuff like that. We are better off picking up Curry than Craptree. Based on his actions alone, I'm really glad we got Curry.

We may look like a beat up team these days, but we will finish strong and will only get better over time. I am hoping that Walt finishes his career on a high with the Hawks, though it does look grim for this dream.

I think our future does look bright and if this is considered a transitional year, then let it be. We will find out how tough our players and coaches are.

The 9ers having Craptree will not change our improvement and growth over time.
