This has been another awful year of Seahawks football, so it's sometimes tough to get past the crappiness and into the good stuff. Here are a few things I'm thankful for regarding this current, and past, Seahawks team:

  1. Paul Allen
  2. Brandon Mebane
  3. An expectation of winning -- do the Browns fans have that?
  4. Justin Forsett
  5. Memories of Cortez Kennedy destroying everything he wanted to whenever he wanted to
  6. Nick Reed, David Hawthorne, Jordan Babineaux... the fact that our team can hit on late round talent, even if they miss on first rounders sometimes.
  7. Lawyer Milloy back home in Seattle, possibly teaching another local boy how to play hard-hitting NFL Safety in 2010 (Taylor Mays)
  8. Spaghetti. Okay, irrelevant, but delicious no?
  9. Walter Jones; he still counts right?
  10. Josh mo-flippin Wilson.
Note: that is not in any specific order, though Paul Allen and Brandon Mebane are right near the top. Hit us with your list, and Happy Thanksgiving, Addicts! Go binge on football and tryptophan!
EDIT: Uhm, oh yeah, and friggin' MATT HASSELBECK. Thanks guys... to be fair, it was late... or early. I dont' really remember...

1. Seattle Sports - Seahawks, Sounders, and Mariners.
2. Paul Allen - Get well and fight this cancer!
3. Justin Forsett - Future Pro Bowl RB. For us? I don't know.
4. Our future GM. Anything is better than Ruskell. Holmgren possibly?
5. Aaron Curry - Give him time and I guarantee this guy will shine. He has always had to overcome obstacles. He's a fighter,he will come through.
6. Our two 1st round draft picks.
7. Jim Mora - Yes, we sit at 3-7 right now, but I love the fact that he loves this city Seattle!
8. Jon Ryan - This guy gets no credit! First of all he is tied for 1st for longest punt which is 70 yards. Secondly, he is 5th of all NFL punters for punt average which is 47.3. And thirdly, he is 6th of all NFL punters for total yardage of 2,505. Props to you.
9. Seagals - Nuff said!
10. Qwest field - I LOVE THE LOUD FEST!

I really hope we don't draft Taylor Mays. The guy never tries to make a play on the ball, he'd rather get a big hit in, and those usually happen after the first down is reached. I know we need safety help, but not Mays. =(

Matt Hasselbeck. The face of our franchise for many years now. The best quarterback in Seahawks history, a sure fire "Ring of Honor" member and more than likely will be the 2nd member of our franchise to have his number retired.. No matter how long a season gets, or how many ribs he's broken, he rides and dies a Seahawk. He's one of the most well respected quarterbacks around the league for his toughness, leadership, and swagger. Thank you Matt!

Oops! I feel like a freak'n jerk. I forgot Hasselbeck! I am very thankful for our QB! Matt Hasselbeck deserves so much credit for his leadership and then some. I lift my glass, hehe(my beer bottle) in honor of our most beloved Seattle Seahawk, Mr. Matt Hasselbeck! Thanks Matt, for everything!

You guys are right, we can't forget Matt baby. He has shown everyone in Hawkdom what the very definition of "true grit" is. On this Thanks Giving day, it must be acknowledged what an inspiration he has been in this turkey of a season.

Although this season isn't going according to plan I'm grateful for the Seahawks. Been watching since the Zorn/Largent years and there's a lot to remember during the last 30 that brings back fond memories. I'm hoping we can re-create a team in 2010 that more resembles our "ground Chuck" years of hard fought success of good free agent signings combined with solid drafting (with whipped cream and cherry of SB appearances added).

I'm thankful for another season with new draft picks and possibly someone to replace Knapp.
