Sean Locklear took snaps with the first team offense on Friday, which is definitely heartening news for anyone hoping that the Seahawks will return to full strength as we enter the homestretch. Will it help? Absolutely.
But not this week.
Damion McIntosh almost certainly will, and should, start this week. There is no reason to push Locklear to return this week against a team that -- lets be honest -- if we can't beat with our fifth string LT, the season is pretty much unsalvageable anyway. So, most likely, the Seahawks and Mora push Damion McIntosh out there one more week. McIntosh played just fine last week, so why rush Locklear back from such a painful injury?
Still, as utterly UNLIKELY as it is, the Seahawks are indeed going to be going back to full strength very soon. Is this a real football team or not? We're going to find out in the next three weeks. If we lose this week, the answer is: "no." If we beat the Cardinals on the road (they're 1-3 at home), the answer is still evasive. If we can string together 3 in a row, we're at .500 and have proven something to ourselves.
Is it possible? Hell yes.
Is it likely? With these guys? No.
But it's possible, and at 2-5, we need every scrap of hope we can find.

However that being said the only team I see that is a superbowl contender is the Vikings. I could see us finishing strong at 9-7 If we can start figuring out what is wrong with our team. I am leaning toward STTBM in that it is our Offensive coordinator.
I was also thinking that the whole approch to practice may be off. Holmgren said we are going to do this and we are going to do it better then everyone. stop us if you can. Mora says lets go over every situation that we may face then wonders why we have troble executing. Well, Just a thought.
I Like Mora but I am not sold on the above mentioned approach. There is something to be said for the beat us at our game if you can approach. It is like watching a Indy game against Manning. Just stay in the defense that you called and stop letting manning control the game. Well off subject a bit but wow it drives me crazy. He does it just to get a reaction!!
9-7 is our most optomistic but also somewhat realistic chace at a recovery. IMHO

1- Will he be the Left Tackle we need?
2- Can he stay healthy?
Only Lock can provide those answers and they will have a profound impact on the 2010 draft. He has to play the position for the rest of '09. His play and his durability will answer for themselves.
McIntosh did play adequately. It is nice to have him as a back up.

Texashawk--Im glad some other folks recognize that maybe I had some good points before the season and that it wasnt all sour grapes and negativity when I voiced reservations about the possibility of Knapp being hired and that the ZBS might not be the cure-all many hoped it would be.
Funny thing is, from time to time I have bought into Ruskell and Mora's line of BS and drank the blue Kool-Aid as well. I voiced my apprehensions but was still very hopeful after the last two drafts. Its almost frightening how much this season has followed my worst nightmares and deepest fears. Everything I worried about has been proven to be valid, and that should never ever happen. It isnt like I have some special knowledge or inside info, I am simply an overly analytical Hawk-crazed football fan.
Aside from Knapp's pathetic playcalling, the thing I am most disappointed in is Bradley's scheme failing game after game, and Mora's complete lack of leadership. He looks confused and frustrated in the first quarter! And not once has Mora mentioned Accountability (his new favorite word) in the same sentence with Coaches. As if the retarded schemes of this coaching staff are brilliant and woould work if only the players executed them well. Well, from what I have seen, most of the time it wouldnt matter what the players did, the plays arent going to work.
Time for some accountability from our coaching staff, top to bottom.

While no one will confuse Sean Locklear with Walter Jones, Lock has proven to be a solid LT in the league. He may not play at a pro bowl level and he is not the ideal replacment for Walt but he is solid. Save him until we need him, if you add Locklear to this line it goes from horrendous to about average.

Hey Largent Rules: I don't think 7-9 will win the division. The Niners and the Cards are both better than that. I would like to see the Hawks finish 7-9 or 8-8. That would mean 5-4 or 6-3 from here on this season. At this point, I would consider that to be pretty good.

5-5 is possible as long as we are excellent with our execution.
