Keys to the Game / Players to Watch - Week 12

Written by Chris Sullivan on .

The Hawks don't have to win this game, but Tim Ruskell needs them to. The Hawks are 0-5 on the road this year, and this is the one that they absolutely should win. Both these teams are bad, but the Hawks have all sorts of talent that the Rams just plain don't. Losing this game officially launches a rebuilding effort. Here's who I'm watching, oh, and sidenote: if you're rooting against the Hawks today, keep it to yourself. GO HAWKS!

  1. Deon Butler - Will Smeg Knapp get him involved? If history is any precedent, no way in hell. Butler doesn't need to be a superstar, he doesn't even need to be good, but shouldn't we be TRYING to assess his skill level?
  2. Aaron Curry - Will Curry play more than 42% of snaps this week? Will he play with the intensity that he did in week one against the Rams and, specifically, Steven Jackson. The two of them were going at each other big time in week one, and I want to see more of that. Let's get a rivalry going, damn it! I'm so tired of the Seahawks acting like BFFs with their opponents. Get scrappy, boys. You can afford the $5,000 fine.
  3. Lawyer Milloy - The more he plays, the better he looks on this defense. Milloy is playing with more intensity than just about anyone else on the team right now, and I enjoy it. No one thought he'd last past this year, but I'm beginning to feel he may. Imagine the education he could give a young safety in 2010. Tackle THROUGH the opponent, Seahawks, not at them.
  4. Justin Forsett & Louis Rankin - I'm not the only one glad to hear that Jones is out today. I want to see what these two can do, especially Louis Rankin. Giving him 0 touches last week was idiotic. We have nothing to lose, PLAY THEM.
