Danny O'Neil was at a morning briefing with Tim Ruskell who confirmed that the Hawks have signed Max Unger. He suggested that Kerney and Walter Jones are both on track to be ready for training camp, but as we've been saying around here for awhile, Mike Wahle's prognosis is not so good. Anything could happen, of course, but it sounds like there's a good shot he won't be ready. That is why Unger had been working at Left Guard in OTAs.

As for signing Curry, O'Neil says:

Ruskell said the team has been talking non-stop with Curry's representatives the past two days and still hopes to have him in camp on time.

I was kinda surprised by the Babineaux thing, but the Unger thing doesn't really surprise me.

I can't wait to watch the rookies in the preseason games. smilies/sad.gif

Curry will sign soon. I know it. I feel it.

Babs is the shit. I hope he beats Russell out for the starting job.

Wow, Babs gets his shot! Cool! Still, he was pretty unimpressive coming in as a backup when there were injuries at safety. Its really good to hear they are opening up the competition though. I would like to see CJ Wallace get some time as well. Hes in his third year, its time to let him learn on the job...at least in preseason.

Will someone please explain why the hell Seattle is still having Grant play out of position at SS instead of moving him back to FS. FS requires coverage skills and speed--two things Russell is utterly lacking in. Also, Babs is slower than Grant and not as agile. Why not put Babs at SS and Grant back at his old position of FS?!

STTBM -- could. not. agree. more. Grant at FS and Babs at SS makes a world of sense to me.

Wahle is done
written by Danger, July 31, 2009
Mike Wahle is going on the IR for the year. I just feel it...

I actually hope Wahle is done. We need to be grooming young linemen of the future not keep plugging in players on their last legs and never approaching the continuity that's required to form a top tier offensive line. We need players to play together for a few years not bring in a new guy every year. That's how the line from 2005 was built. They had played together for several seasons prior to gelling into that super OL in 2005.

We need to find out about Sims and Wrotto, decide if Willis will play guard or tackle, and decide if Unger will play guard or center. Then get rid of the ones who can't play and keep playing the ones who can until they gel. If necessary, we need to keep acquiring offensive linemen until we have a good young line in the works.

How hard can it be?

ugg boots

"Use all day leads to the boot structure breaking ugg boots for sale down, increasing the risk of a twisted ankle."
Pharmacist Hasan Ukra, who works in the flagship Boots store in London's Oxford Street, said: "Wearing these kind of boots could increase the risk of fungal infections due to the uggs outlet moist environment created.
"And I've seen a marked rise in ankle sprains due to the soft and comfortable nature of the boots."
