The holdout with Aaron Curry enters day four of training camp. This wouldn't normally be that big of a deal, but Curry has a very important role in this defense and every practice he misses is quite substantial. He's already 8 hours behind in on-the-field time, but, more importantly, he's also missed every meeting held thus far during training camp.

The sticking point appears to be the guaranteed money (isn't it always?). Camp Curry is wanting at least as much guaranteed as Mark Sanchez, while the Seahawks are holding to the commonly believed thought that QB contracts are not fair comparables. I side with the Seahawks here (in principle, don't know what the actual offers are), though I can see the Curry camp's argument of course. Still, bottom line is they are teetering on the edge of seriously hurting their client in order to bring him a couple more guaranteed bucks.

The key is to wait for KC to sign Tyson Jackson. Once Jackson is signed, Curry will be firmly planted between two contracts and will have less negotiation room. Still, you had better believe Jackson's folks are doing the same thing. Stalemates aren't fun, but they're a part of the game. One thing I do know: there are going to be a lot of frustrated fans if he's not on the field for practice today (which he won't be).
