The second practice of Training Camp had far fewer people as a lot of people sat out part or all of practice-- Spencer, Willis, Kerney, Jones -- in order to play it safe, no new injuries though, which is great news. Lawrence Jackson evidently was not affected by his twisted ankle yesterday.
Red Bryant apparently stood out the most today. Danny O'Neil:
DT Red Bryant made a strong impression in a much more literal sense on Saturday morning. He was a certifiable carnivore at defensive tackle, sniffing out a screen pass beautifully during an 11-on-11 drill, then came a bullrush of Cory Withrow, whose only defense was to remove Bryant's helmet. Finally, big Bryant swatted a pass from Seneca Wallace at the line of scrimmage.
Bryant is one of the guys that we were very excited about last year, but an injury early in camp basically ended his year. Bryant is looked at as the future of this defensive line, and the fact that he is flashing signs of beast-ology is a fantastic development.
Next practice is at 6:45 tonight, hopefully Aaron Curry will be signed by then. Don't hold your breath.
