With practice being closed and the team (and probably beat writers) getting fatigued, there's just not a whole lot to write about today. There might be more news coming out of tonight's closed practice (6:45 - 8:45), but until then, here are some questions for you guys:
- Who are you most excited about thus far in Training Camp?
- Who are you most disappointed about?
- If the Seahawks could acquire any three players in the NFL, who would they be and why?

Players I wish the Seahawks had now:
1. Julian Peterson
2. Kevin Mawae
3. Steve Hutchinson
Two of the three used to be on the Seahawks roster!

1) Who are you most excited about thus far in Training Camp?
Sims for finally looking like what I have been expecting since his rookie year.
2)Who are you most disappointed about?
Spencer, who seems to have such vast potential and always seems dinged up when it counts the most..
3)If the Seahawks could acquire any three players in the NFL, who would they be and
i) Jake Long (Miami) LT of the future
ii) Joe Flacco (Ravens) QB of the future (and present, probably)
iii) Kevin Williams (Minni) likely gives us a solid option at DT for years to come.
3a)why? why not?

Biggest cause for excitement - Curry and a healthy Nate
Biggest disappointment - no Walt; and no one getting excited about LoJack. He said that last year, he was injured so, I expected him to come out this year and make some noise. So far, nothing.
Who are my dream additions to the 'Hawks?:
1) Steve Hutchinson - obvious reasons: we need his presence and his health on the left side of the line;
2) Adrian Petersen - to be the #1 rb behind Hutch; and 3) Troy Polamalu - for a shutdown, ball-hawking Safety. Of course, that would truly bust the bank but, it would sure make for a fun ride!

1) I am most excited about Rob Sims on offense, since by all accounts he finally "gets it", and Redding/Cole on defense. Which isnt what I was expecting. I was sure it would be Lucas I was most excited about...not that Im worried, he will be fine, he's just not an elite corner anymore.
2) Most disappointed in Sean Locklear. The hier apparent to Walter Jones may not even start game 1 at RT, let alone take over for Walt at LT. I am moderately disappointed in Lucas as well. And I am very disappointed in Owen Schmidt, whom I was sure was going to tear it up--looks like he needs another year coming off the bench. But hey, he didnt get much playing time last year so I will cut him some slack. Spencer I am not disappointed in, as I thought Unger would have beat him out allready.
3) Three players I wish Seattle had? Eddie Royal (goodbye tiny always hurt Branch and inconsistent Burleson) or Larry Fitzgerald or Andre Johnson. Even Boldin would be great. Adrian Peterson or Michael Turner. Atari Bigby--seriously, this guy had a down year last year, but he is a beast! And his name cracks me up! Mario Williams!
I would take Seneca Wallace over Flacco any day.

Actually Hulk all three are former hawks.
#1 Redding, Curry, and Housh
#2 Schmitt, LoJack and Babs(why haven't you taken B-Russ's spot)
#3 Michael Turner, Ed Reed, and the 2nd best Gaurd (forget Hutch, he didn't want to be here and I don't want anyone that doesn't want to be here!!!)

1) Cory Redding, I love everything I've heard about his work ethic and personality.
2)Trufant, the thought of losing another top player to back issues is pretty scary.
3) I would take Adrian Peterson, Fitzgerald and Philip Rivers. That would be a young explosive offensive core group that would certainly win a couple superbowls before they finished. Then next year we would be free to use our 1st rounders to draft Mays or Berry, and a left tackle of the future.

2. Most Disappointed about Trufant (or Lucas #1.5)
3. Any 3 players
1. Adrian Peterson - A RB with speed and vision
2. Tom Brady (Nothing against Hass) - Come on he is the best, why not!
3. Michael Roos LT - Put him at RT then LT next year - You can never have to many great LT

I most wanna see the first 3 draft picks. Aaron Curry destroying tight ends, Msx Unger (and the whole zone blocking scheme), and Deon Butler just running past everyone.
Most disappointed about: Probably Cameron Morrah. Was expecting him to be a bit better than what I've heard, but he's young and inexperienced, hope to see good things about it.
3 players I wish were Hawks:
Ed Reed
Larry Fitzgerald
Adrian Peterson.

excited about the defensive front seven
excited about Justin Forsett
excited about Hasselbeck to Housh
disappointed about the offensive line
disappointed that it took a week to sign Curry
three players:
He who should not be named at Left Guard, because we are weak on the offensive line.
Larry Fitzgerald, because he is so great.
Adrian Peterson, because he is so great at a position where we are not.

1. Redding. The guy sounds way better than advertised. An absolute beast.
2. Julius Jones. It's his opportunity to gain a stranglehold on the running back spot with almost no immediate competition and it sounds like he's showing nothing special.
3a. Adrian Peterson- Simply the best by far at a weak position for us.
3b. Joe Thomas - Amazing young left tackle to take over after Walt when he retires or goes down. Could play an amazing RT till that happens.
3c. Matt Ryan - The guy is a proven fierce competitor and a complete class act. Perfect for a Ruskell team. Hass is getting up there in age and gambling on a new/young/unproven QB doesn't always turn out so well.

I may get crazy and even allocate two picks on offensive linemen. If you control the clock through a dominant rushing attack, then you manage the game. With a great O-line even a Shaun Alexander can be a league MVP!

"Just a few bullet points from practice
* The team went goal line and it was very physical.
* Craig Terrell flattened Mansfield Wrotto flat on his back.
* Julius Jones ripped off a great run in 11 on 11, just exploded through the hole and up the sidelines.
* CJ Wallace continues to play physical when given the chance. He’s going to get into a scrap soon in practice. It’s coming.
* Hasselbeck threw 60-yard TD pass to Mike Hass.
* John Carlson caught a TD pass in the goal line drills. "
So Jones finally takes off, which is good news, Carlson's his usual studly self, and Hass continues to look good, but unfortunately, it's a numbers game, and he's not likely to be one of the final six receivers. Bummer, as he's looking better and better as training camp goes on.
Oh, and Terrell does what he often does, not much but then suddenly one shining, awesome play!

1. Brandon Mebane, Cory Redding, Carlson and Forsett. No need to really go much further since we all know why...
2. Jennings and Teel. Jennings is SOOOO close to being a marvelous CB...great coverage skills but ZERO ball skills. He needs those damn ball skills...just a bit more even and he'd be great. Teel just looked like crap every time I saw him...was excited to see him and expected more.
3.
Joe Thomas to be the cornerstone of our offensive line for the next decade.
Ed Reed...obviously...but mainly because Russell would be one the bench
Adrian Peterson...nuff said

Excited about: Housh, Carlson, a little bit excited to see if any of the running backs are any good. Not happy excited but nervous excited.
Not excited about: Guards, CBs, Centre
Surprised Unger isn't featuring more heavily at either C or RG.
3 Players: Peterson, Asomugha, Hutch,
Btw Why are so many people down on Schmitt? Is it related to the DUI or performance at camp? I would have thought FB was a really difficult position to shine in camp sessions. Is he blowing protection, not trying etc. There was a little quote on him chasing down an out of range pass which implied extra effort. Other than that I haven't read anything about him on addicts. Same goes for Justin Griffin. I think he'll be ok. I liked the brief looks we saw last season.
I'm also excited I've got the full game pass this season which means I have a chance of watching the preseason games if they're on NFLNetwork.

First off scotia seahawk there have been some negative reports from TC that the Beer Truck lacks the lateral speed to be good in pass protection. Some players are just running around the young FB. I am not worried about it because we have Griffin to teach him up this year. Effort is not the problem. Quickness in lateral movement to pick up blitzes is.
I have to complemet Chris for this hook at the end of the post. I have not been commenting much latley as I have been busy at work, but there is no way I can not give my opinion on those three questions.
I wanted to try and be original in my answers but with so many great suggestions already up there it is tough.
1. J Force, I have penciled him in for my last non kicker pick in my fantasy league.
2. Wahle. It was sorta expected that he retire but I still wanted him to do well this year.
3. Matt Ryan, Joe Thomas, and Mario Williams/ Albert Haynesworth. I am leaning toward Williams over AH because of age.
Just to throw out another hypothetical, if I were the GM the one thing I would have done differently over the past few years is this. I would have made a big play for Hutch Jr, Alan Fenica. He was available the same offseason that we picked up Wahle. We would be spending a lot of money on the O line, but if you ask me it would have been worth it. We would have had to outbid the Jets for him but Jones plays better with a dominate LG playing next to him.
This is the one move that I can honestly say I was screaming for during that offseason. What do I know though. That same offseason I was calling for TR to draft Fred Davis with the pick that eventally became Law Jackson.

O line important to you much nightwolf? Me too. I like the idea of drafting O linemen high and drafting guys like forsett late to run behind a dominate line. I don't see the need for two pro bowl centers though?? Unger your my hero. I heard that he goes through multiple pairs of socks and shoes a game due to sweating. Representing for those of us who sweat even if we are sitting in a meat freezer.

May I add a fourth point, and that being how many people have had the poor luck of being rescheduled by practice cancelations twice, and the third try time was just moved...?? It's killing me, wanting to get to the VMAC so bad!
