Ryan Divish caught up with Greg Knapp today, and there was a lot of good that came out of a fairly short transcript. Check it out here.

  • On the run: “We’re right on track for this weekend. We’ve got plenty of time. In comparison to starting up this run scheme – both in Atlanta and Oakland – it will be six or seven games into the regular season before we are hitting on all cylinders. It takes time. So I’m not worried at all. I think we are right on target.”
  • On Vallos, Knapp said that he was going to be ready to start by week one, and that he's looked great and had a lot of reps with the first team. Max Unger lined up as starting right guard today.
  • The second-newest roster addition, Brian De La Puente, was working at center with the second team today. He was likely brought in to give Unger a chance to rest his legs (and everything else), which is a very good thing. The offensive linemen have basically all been playing with the first and second teams in practice. While that is good for them to be learning extra roles, but as we approach the season it is more important that they have energy on the field.
