According to this report from PFT's Mike Florio, Koren Robinson will be playing in the UFL this season, signing with the Jim Haslett-coached Orlando Tuskers.
Koren's entrance into the UFL makes him the highest-profile player to sign with the league so far. That much wasn't a particularly difficult feat in itself, as the previous UFL "big name" was former Bills QB J.P. Losman.
If Koren can make a splash and prove that he can get through a full season without appearing on the police blotter, NFL teams can talk to him after November 28. If he can't, Koren will be remembered as just another overvalued high draft pick who blew his chance to meet his true potential.
Personally, I'm hoping he can overcome his troubles and continue to re-invent himself. His showing last year as a Seahawk may not have been the second coming of Steve Largent, but he filled in admirably for a receiving corps that may or may not have been seriously considering bringing in the real Steve Largent for a tryout. (Or the living members of Mother Love Bone; I'm not really sure.)
Best of luck to you in the UFL, Koren. Remember: Catch the ball, drop the bottle.
