Another preseason game means another who-gives-a-damn game, right? Well, not quite. This game is important for a number of reasons, so lets get to them:

  1. One-and-only chance to see the Broncos first hand (unless you live near Denver, poor Ryan). The Seahawks have the 2009 first round pick of the Denver Broncos, so we are naturally rooting against them as much as possible. Kyle Orton will again get the start, so the Hawks defense should get a good shot to look great. If they don't, we might be in trouble, hah.
  2. First teamers are expected to play for the first half. We'll get our first good look at Matt Hasselbeck and Co., and especially the new-look, post-Walter O-Line. If they can look good for two quarters, it could help make us feel a bit better.
  3. Pass rushing. Can our first team guys get better pressure? We need them to prove that they can today, and what better incentive than putting Neckbeard on his booty? We'll also get a better look at Colin Cole, Cory Redding, and potentially Aaron Curry (though he is questionable with a strained groin).
  4. Sean Locklear and Chris Spencer are the star of my show tonight. If those two guys can perform at a high level, I think this offense will be fine in 2009, with or without Walt. Not that the Broncos are the best barometer of your O-Line, but we'll still get some idea of how we're going to be.
  5. The Young Guys! We talked about this yesterday, but there are a ton of big-time depth position battles going on, so look for a lot of second and third teamers to try to prove their worth tonight.
What about you guys? What are you watching this game for? Are you going to the game tonight? (I'll be online, watching it with you out-of-towners.)
