Brock Huard referred to it as the practice equivalent of an east coast 10 AM -- low intensity, poor connection between the WRs and QBs, and just general sluggishness. This is the sixth straight day of practice and comes about 12 hours after the end of a particularly tough practice yesterday. How will Mora respond with the team? Is he going to let them off easy or be hard on his players and force them to come out and really play for tonight's practice?
Eric Williams didn't have a ton to say about the actual practice, but had a nice write-up nonetheless. The key to Williams' coverage today was related to the offensive line. He spoke with Mike Solari, who said a few things:
- Sean Locklear and Ray Willis are battling for the starting spot at right tackle. This still concerns me, in that if Locklear is your successor at left tackle, how can he be pushed at the generally less demanding right tackle position? Any insight on the differences between playing the two positions?
- Whoever doesn't win the starting job will likely move to Right Guard. I still see the starting line-up during week one as Jones - Sims - Spencer - Willis - Locklear. That's an average to above-average line.
- Unger is improving, but is not expected to push for a starting spot right away. Solari wants him to be one of the top seven linemen, so he'll be getting semi-regular play rotating in for tired guys.
